How many of your principles are you willing to compromise?

This is not to say vote for the GOP. Everyone here should vote Democratic. But does it bother anyone, in the two-party system, one often ends up voting for someone who doesn't probably hold any of your values?

Do people have a threshold? Would you vote for a democrat no matter what their voting record or campaign platform? I personally would have a hard time voting for anyone who wants to keep Americans in Iraq past the Murtha plan. I prefer immediate withdrawl.

But, I also realize if the Current Party retains power they will continue to support the Glorious Leaders Churchillian Delusions.

But, then voting just to get one's own party in power is what the conservatives did in voting for Bush.

How much longer will the American populace be held hostage by the 2 parties?

1. Let me suggest a motto
"Democrats are no better than Republicans."

3. Pardon?
I clearly stated everyone needs to vote Democrat. Every single person. In every race. Yet I'm trolling. Thanks!

4. This is why being "independent" has been so popular.
The winner takes all nature of our gov't prevents all but a 1 or 2 party system. In a three or more party game someone with much less than majority support gets to win. That tends to piss people off, too.

5. I'm not willing to compromise any of my principles.
That's why, when I vote for a Democrat, it is with the full understanding that I will not retire complacently and leave them with an open field. I will hold them accountable for that vote. They will be the lucky beneficiary of consistent pressure on my part to act on the issues that drive my vote.

That's why I don't jump in the ring and say that I'll guarantee all my votes to the party no matter what. That I'll hold my nose and vote for the lesser of evils. That every democrat is a prince/princess who deserves my adulation.
