Just saw a clip on ABC news about Stephanopolous' interview with
Cheney that will be aired today. The very last thing he mentioned is that Cheney said that if the Dems take control of Congress, he probably won't comply with subpoenas. Sorry - no link.

(forgive the awkward language - I just woke up)

5. Is he above the law?
Sure seems like it. Aw hell, he's been ignoring subpoena's and court orders all his miserable life. I don't guess anyone should be surprised. :puke:

6. That's okay. Halliburton et al execs will have to comply
You don't really need Cheney testifying to Congress as long as you can subpoena everyone around him. By the time Conyers and Waxman are done, he'll be begging to testify.

I thought I knew the whole story and I couldn't be more outraged but that documentary took me to the next level. There will be so much coming out in Congressional investigations that our fellow Americans will be angry down to their toes.

7. Also note: Cheney implies we will NEVER leave Iraq!
I noticed this statement by him in the preview Friday (paraphrase):

Cheney said, "Osama bin Laden believes Americans don't have the stomach for war and will eventually leave."

So by that logic, if we EVER leave Iraq, we'll just be proving OBL right. Because I can't envision a situation where an American victory in Iraq is so undeniable, even OBL agrees "the Americans won". Can you?

14. I wonder of SCOTUS will write the checks from now on as well
Remember Congress approves the money, Bush* just spends it. If Congress doesn't give him any money for Iraq what then?

9. Well now
this could be more fun that I ever hoped for. Not comply? Last I looked asshole you were no more than a citizen like I am. You work for us remember? I don't think we will stand for this so if you want to take that chance you go right ahead. Make it more fun for us.

16. Dead Eye is putting forth the idea that their Executive powers
exempt him, Chucklenuts and the whole administration from subpoenas. (I'm betting he thinks this powers extend ad infinitum into private life.) Stephy came back and said that Gerald Ford testify before Congress on why he pardoned Nixon but Dead Eye came back and said, "Yes, but not under oath." Avoiding testifying under oath is paramount to this bunch of crooks.

I would love to see where these "strict Constitutionists" find that little ditty in the Constitution. Dead Eye is fricking nuts.

Whenever they get into trouble (which is often) they just throw out "executive privilege" nonsense and the press (including little Georgy Stephalumpus) just let it go.

21. Just putting off the inevitable
The man is going to be hounded for the rest of his life for the hatred he has promoted - he may end up in jail.

I personally don't care if it's now or later - I am sure he has a lot to answer for.

You might want to have John Dean remind you of what happened when your old boss decided he didn't need to comply with subpoenas.

Well, we may have to help poor old Cheney comply. How 'bout we all volunteer to go look for it, for the poor old man? :P
