1. Without a doubt, albeit a feeble attempt, and obvious to anyone w/a brain, |
|
which is probably around half the voters in the country or less.

7. Obviously right now someone believes in coincidences (and Buhco not being involved). |
|
Personally, spiritually, I don't believe in coincidences on any level.

3. Naaah. The Bushies have such a stirling record of being non-political. |
|
They certainly won't bray about it being "victory for democracy", or "proof that justice prevails in Iraq".
2 days before and election? Just a coincidence.

But will it have an effect on anyone other than the 25%?

5. Timing is about right, remember the 'post capture of saddam bounce' |
|
lasted less than a week. Had to get the verdict in the time frame that if there is a small bounce, that it lasts... two days seems to be about right.

Is the verdict about politics? I don't know. Or about the timing of the verdict.
But the media flogging it certainly is political!

13. Yes but please tell me its obvious to the voters |
|
That it is a power retention ploy. The trial has been going on for a long, long time so the verdict and the sentence (very close together) are an obvious attempt to play the winning-the-war-on-terra card - so obvious that most voters should shrug in disgust - and it only highlights that Iraq is a mess and the verdict will not make any real difference, if it does, it will be to makes things more of a mess.
