How is Saddam really any different from any other ME dictator?
Other than the fact that for some reason he's a household name over here

Is he really worse than the other rulers over there? If not, how could anyone justify invading Iraq and not just continuing to look for Osama?

1. The big difference is that the US installed Saddam and supplied
Iraq with the wherewithal to commit murder with the US consent.

2. Women in Iraq had more freedoms than in other Middle Eastern nations.
Women could actually get educated and have jobs. Saddham was NOT an Islamofacist.

5. He gassed villages and killed children that way. He ethnic cleansed
about 2 Million Shities by draining their farmland. He tortured, & murdered hundreds of thousands. He was a monster pure and simple.

13. True
fully agree with what you said about Saddam, but that was not the reason Iraq was invaded.

6. He's the one who tried to kill Bush's daddy, earning the
eternal wrath of the son. The PNAC wanted to invade Iraq, Iran and Syria for a PAX Americana. When the PNAC found Bush so willing for revenge on Saddam, it was the perfect marriage for them to fulfill their plans starting with the invasion of Iraq.

11. Interesting question
Regardless of what the middle east rulers are like, which I'm sure many of them are corrupt, below you'll find an explanation of why we got rid of Saddam.

...............................................

Brief analysis of Middle Eastern countries:

Big Oil producers:

- Saudi, Kuwait, etc... = puppet governments = allies

meaning: the US already has unlimited access to their oil = no problem

Small or no oil producers are not important.

Further info:

Saddam as a puppet = ally

later her decided to cut off his strings = need to invade

Iran not a puppet = need to invade
...............................................

That's all you need to know about the Middle East

14. It was the weakest oil nation we could invade
Spinning the propaganda was easy. Bush 1 promising the Shiites he would provide back-up if they overthrew Saddam after GW1 and then bailing out provided the "mass graves" to get hysterical about. And the Iranian gassing of the Kurds could easily be blamed on Saddam because they were both using gas during their war. As easy as throwing babies out of incubators.
