This Weekend: Has The Military Been Active In your Area?
No tinfoil hat here.

Yesterday I went to an auction in part of the western-most end of this state, within a mile of the Maryland line, up in the mountains, miles from any sort of town of any size at all. On the way home I passed by a band of our military trucks stopped at the side of the road. There were maybe a dozen vehicles, two or three dozen troops just sort of out moseying around. Didn't look like a piss break to me.

Later in the evening a friend stopped by. He mentioned that his daughter (very impressive young lady of about 17) had commented earlier in the day on having seen unexpected military activity in the Morgantown area where they live.

This morning I had to go down to the middle of the state. I passed two military convoys on the way there.

I never see this much activity even though there is a training post just 20 or so miles from here.

12. That thread got scrubbed
and flushed down the memory hole. Troop movement thing conflicts with DU rules.

4. Once again
crawling with SS but that is because Bush** will be here soon. Last time they were hanging out in the pasture across from my farm since it is close to where he lands. I am getting ready to head out, climb up on top of the barn and flip him off again. I KNOW they can see me because I can see them they get so low over the farm with that big plane. Does my heart good.

Other than that I have not, just the usual touch and go of the refueling planes and flights from Ft. Riley.

6. Not over the weekend
Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 04:02 PM by azurnoir
but Wednesday and Thursday last week. We live near an Air National Guard base and along with alot of Blackhawks in the air, they actually cause the house to rattle, the now predictable DSL and phone line problems. Qwest said there were technical problems in the Mn area, but they seemed centered in the Twin Cities from talking to people out state This is truely not tinfoil, we've lived in this house for 31/2 years, every time there is any kind of "terra alert" or political happening the pattern is the same, lots of Blackhawks and phone and net problems.

13. Not just this weekend
most of the helicopter movment was late last week but as I edited my post to say this has been going on for the entire time we've lived here. We moved in to this house the week before the Iraq invasion.

7. None that I've noticed
All quiet in Western Pennsylvania, although our local reservists are all in Iraq.

I was at an auction, too, by the way, and noticed that things weren't moving at all--dressers going for $5 or just not selling at all. Don't know if it's the economy or everyone going to the football game or what.

15. Well, with the way we're ruining equipment overseas
It could be they were simply ferrying crap to BAWL-More to replace the junk that's been ruined, and the few dozen souls were a working party.

I mean, it IS the weekend. And WEEKENDS are when reservists drill.

16. Yes, I noticed yesterday (Saturday) that there were so many...
fighter jets flying so high I couldn't even see them--three or four times during the day. I was wondering if we were bombing Iran or something. Has anyone heard anything about the Eisenhower strike force that is, by now, in the Persian Gulf?

18. Yes in Tampa Bay
The Gulf is a big training area, and we're near MacDill, so they're here now and again. Today, there was an unusually heavy traffic of fighter jets training -- one flew so low and loud that I thought it was crashing and I ran outdoors to see what the hell was going on.
