Top Gingrich Lieutenant Predicts GOP Will Lose 25-30 House Seats
<snip>

Joe Gaylord, who was the political lieutenant to Newt Gingrich when he led the Republican takeover of the House in 1994, said that based on polling he had seen in recent weeks, he expected his party to lose 25 seats to 30 seats on Tuesday. That general assessment was repeatedly echoed in interviews with Republicans close to the White House and the Republican National Committee.

“It’s very grim,” Mr. Gaylord said. “Things are dreadful out there.”

2. Yes, democracy looks very "dreadful" to republicans.
As do FACTS and TRUTH and REALITY.

Poor republicans. Americans just aren't as stupid as they'd assumed.

11. I'm sitting here trying to decide whether I will even log onto DU
tomorrow and Tuesday night. This place can be a real DOWNER some days. Sheesh! I logged on here tonight, happy as a lark after hearing about the downfall of Haggard today (his confession), the GREAT news from the political pundits on C-SPAN this morning, and all the positive reports on the news about how well the Dems are doing....and all that happiness was dashed by the myriad of doomsday threads. I'm also making note of their post counts. Some are 'suspect'...if you get my drift? ;) Are we being invaded 2 days before an election? Nah! THAT'S never happened before!:eyes:

I LOVE your thread!:hi:

10. I guess we've gotten our behinds kicked so often lately
that some of us are finding it hard to believe. It's so odd for the Reps to be whining and crying.

Still, it will be really cool. I like the idea of checks and balances!

12. Republicans are estimating high numbers so that when Democrats only
get 10 or 15 seats, Republicans can say they didn't meet expectations.

This is the same strategy they used before the Gore-Bush debates. Republicans said that Gore would kill Bush. When he merely beat him, Republicans said that Bush did better than expected.

8. CNN hairdo holder had a snotty tone of voice when announcing same
she had to add the comment that it was not necessary... as I recall

I don't watch that pap much and it shocks me how openly manipulative some of it is.
Others are deceptively convincing and seemingly factual -until they slip a spin to the thing.
