I don't see it posted anywhere, sorry if this is a dupe, but it's the first time I saw it...

Polls: GOP looks likely to keep Senate control
Races tighten in Montana, Missouri, Rhode Island and Virginia

NEW YORK - Just days from the midterm elections, the final round of MSNBC/McClatchy polls shows a tightening race to the finish in the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. Democrats are leading in several races that could result in party pickups, but Republicans have narrowed the gap in other close races, according to Mason-Dixon polls in 12 states.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15547023/

I honestly think it's absolute bullshit, this is the build up to make the case for tight races where there will be the most fraud.
This is exactly the way they would do it, start saying certain races are closer than they really are. I just don't buy it for a minute.
I'm sure that many voters have changed their minds that fast :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

I'm not being defeatist or non-defeatist, just expressing some frustration here :grr:

1. You are nailing it - and they have the talking points as well
Right wing spinsters are saying that last week's Kerry snafu is the story of the year,
etc.

14. yes and what Kerry did was so much worse
than all the corruption that has surfaced from the Republican party the last few days//weeks/months
- Foley (we all know that one)
- Ney (didn't he just resign too!? for being involved with Abramoff?)
- nuclear/atomic bomb recipes on the internet!

but no, Kerry's mistold joke was so much worse and so much more devastating to the country :eyes:

21. Oh My God
"but no, Kerry's mistold joke was so much worse and so much more devastating to the country"

Some congressman on CNN is blaming Kerry for the change in the momentum. He is
attibuting the people being so disgusted with Kerry this changes things. I just
don't believe this.

28. Scapegoating Kerry
The Repigs needed a scapegoat at the 11th hr. to shift the blame for Americas's woe to. These folks live in their own reality and eventually ours and theirs are going to fight it out to the death again.

2. Nah. These bastards just want viewers for their show. Hoping that us
political junkies will tune into msnbc rather than the other networks to see the close races.

that's why it's so important that some races be blowouts. if we can take the house, we need to hammer our reps to make election changes. this has been my only hope. if we don't, we may never take back our country.

5. Whose surprised?
It never made any difference what any of the polls said, Karl and gang had it all fixed at the factory long ago. Just a few minor adjustments at the last moment and it's all been decided in advance. Takes away from the worry and guess work when your side is counting the vote doesn't it?

10. It's all over but the counting. And we'll take care of the counting."
Alex Pelosi's new film "Diary of a Political Tourist" catches a tipsy Congressman Peter King making a comment at a White House function before the election had been finished that, "It's already over. The Election's over. We Won."

When Pelosi asks, "How do you know that?" King replies, "It's all over but the counting. And we'll take care of the counting."
see the video of King spilling the beans...

6. I saw it on another channel
Same thing..."the trend toward the Democrats has tapered off."

One thing we know for sure: the republicans plan their campaigns like corporate America plans an ad campaign. A sure tip-off is when we see the same version of a story on various media outlets.

7. I hate to agree with you--but unfortunately this is a rerun of the 2004
election. We were so excited. All of the signs that historically call the election pointed to Kerry. And yet, Bush is the president. I will wait until Wednesday morning, but my fear is that the coup is complete--the neocons have taken over America.

9. Sorry to say ur right
if u caught The recent HBO special "Hacking America" last Wed. nite and also saw the Princeton hack that was all over the net a few months back then you know that it's been rigged right from the inside at the factory. No need to for anybody local to even know about it. Herr Karl and Ministry of Democracy have made sure the "Right" people will win. The MSM is preparing the masses for the bad news in advance as they did in 2004. With Hava in place and the MCA ( Military Commissions Act) passed in Oct. The Bu$hiviks are ready to stop any revolt after this massive fraud. Any attempt by us to stage a Ukrainian or Mexician style revolt will be met with guns and camps. These folks are over messing with us including the Demos.

11. I'm so nervous, I can hardly stand it
As I said before, we should be so happy because we know how the majority of
people feel yet in the back of our minds we're scared to death because we know
they won't forfeit power and again the MSM and polls are playing the same
game as last time in order to cover up the theft of our democracy.

If they announce that night at all. They are playing to sound like it may take days. With all these electronic machines, it will take longer to count the votes?

12. The story sources the Mason-Dixon poll?
I've heard here on DU that the Mason-Dixon firm is right-biased, but the Daily KOS rates it very accurate, especially in Congressional races.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/10/8/21515/5620

Can anyone shed some light?

16. The GOP is likely to keep the Senate.
Dems have to win across the board. Its much tougher for them. But they have a chance.

Put it this way -- Dems need to win 8, Rethus have to win 2.

And most polls are tied up for the Senate races.

I never expected to take the Senate...though it would be nice.

We still get the house.

And in 08, we'll get the Senate.

I can live with that.

But Tweetie this a.m. thought the Dems will win the House and it's not unlikely they could win the Senate.

He said this on Today Show.
