May I make a humble suggestion for Tuesday night?
I know emotions are going to be off the charts and everyone will want to say something, but could we possibly refrain from starting a new thread every time a new thought occurs to DUers? When that happens it begins to look like the sort of crap we can see on Yahoo. Conversations and debates are impeded and we have a thousand new threads like "DAMMIT!!!!" in the subject line which serves no purpose except to waste bandwidth and any useful discussions go down below the front page which most of us only look at anyway. Yeah, I know I'm probably pissing into the wind but it sure would be nice to not have to
go through this yet again. What do you guys think, am I wishing on the moon here?

2. So one person's post will speak for everyone else??
Or everyone is supposed to put their post, even if it is a brilliant post, under a two-line post by a DUer just because he was first??

5. No, Read the post again
The OP is asking people to refrain from making NEW threads. I think the idea is that you are free to post whatever the fuck you feel like in an already existing thread, rather than starting a new one each time. I think it's a stellar idea and DU would benefit immensely if people exercised this all the time, not just Tuesday.

22. I was just being facetious..
I see no reason why we could not have threads that continue such as when Bush gives a speech or other major events. However, if the poster feels their post is outside the subject topic and of interest independently, I would have no problem with that either.

14. I'm sure Skinner will oblige us with a series of official threads.
The "Yippie!" and "Dammit!" posts belong on the official threads, freeing up the rest of the board for other topics.

The single state forums might be another place for them.

43. That looks like my Trooper when he was widdle.
My Trooper has been with me since I moved out of my Mother's house when I graduated from college. He's a ripe old 14 and has NO problems (save some really atrocious breath!)

Here's my Troopie now (with his little sister, Scarlett - a golden retriever):

And here's my other 4-legged baby - Snap:

I also have one two-legged human baby (7 years old) and another in my tummy (7 weeks old in-utero).

:hi:

I love kids and dogs.

I'm the animal hotel, too. I've had three dogs and two cats spend the night with me on various occasions just in the past year: all were lost and I found their owners the next day. :)

14 years ? That's wonderful. They're all so healthy and happy.

My guys are with me for the rest of their lives too. They're family.

Congratulations on the newest addition! You'll really have a full house, won't you?

48. Yep - luckily, we just bought a new 2,400 square foot house
and then found out I was pregnant the same month we moved in. LOL!

The dogs have the whole downstairs/basement - except Troopie, who has free run of the house of all three floors (he doesn't still chew things up - and tinkle everywhere like the girls do).

No wasted space in MY house. Every square inch is needed. ;)

41. If you're a wuss, then I'm a bigger one, because that sounds great
I know the circumstances are different this year, but I was up reading DU until very late on election night '02, and I don't think "trauma" is too overblown a word for the experience I had, and '04 was, if anything, worse, and I have too busy a week coming up to settle in for a proper wallow if things don't run our way. I feel like I just need to ignore everything and push on.

Been lurking for years before I finally got a user name...

But it's not like threads don't drop to the bottom like a stone in the ocean already...just not as fast as it'll be on Tuesday...

It's gonna be FUN!

For what it's worth, I plan to NOT post anything. At all. But I'll be watching as the rest of you cheer in massive victory...
