Pew shows Republicans with momentum. In the generic ballot, Dems lead by just 4 points. |
|
More importantly, the GOP has made significant cuts into the Dems once gigantic lead among indies. We know that Karl Rove is not some boogie man hiding in a closet. He is a powerful man with the resources of the White House behind him and a last 72 hour campaign with a record of success.
So ask yourself, how will you feel on the 8th if we lose? We have been losing for 12 years now and each time it only gets worse, and in 2004 we also went in with a lead.
The most important thing to remember is that they can only steal races where they are close, and what that means is that we each have to do everything in our power to make sure we win.
This is where MoveOn.Org's call for change campaign comes in. Our members chipped in millions to allow MoveOn to buy the most up-to-date lists, acquire consumer data, and use micro-targeting to ensure that every call is maximized. We used the Busby and Lamont campaigns to test our program and make it a good user experience. After Busby, a Yale study compared our phone program to others and found that it boosted turnout the most.
As of right now 21,924 MoveOn members have made 479,630 voter contacts (106% of our original goal,) but it is clear that we need to do more.
No one has the right to sit on the sidelines go to www.callforchange.org and start calling now.
Keep this Kicked and recommend till tuesday it if you think other people should see it.

Two other polls out today have the generic ballot lead for Dems at 7 and 6. The USA Today lead of 7 is what it was at this time for the Repugs in 1994.
But as you say, this means we need to work our asses off.

6. Doesn't really matter, polls within the individual house races show us winning, and in 1994 |
|
The Republicans won in a landslide even though they only won 52-44%. If the Republicans are LUCKY, the polls will play out that way, in which case they'll lose about 26 seats.
I've never really trusted the generic ballot anyway. It just flops around too much. You really do have to look to individual races, and in the individual races we're doing excellent.
We'll pick up Wyoming, Idaho, Kansas and Nebraska seats. If we're picking up seats out there, they can't protect their incumbents anywhere.

8. Cause everyone know how bad the republicans are at turning out their base |
|
:sarcasm: :sarcasm: this is the last chance we get to stand up to the Bush Mis-administration and we owe it to the world to leave nothing on the table. Get on the phones tonight, call all of tomorrow and on Tuesday take a break from the phones to vote.
