Heard an Amy Goodman speech on alternative radio tonite.
It almost makes me cry that true journalists like Amy are relegated to the fringes. But DemocracyNow has 500 outlets now so there are some inroads being made.
ending quote was something like "America now stands at a crossroads. Will they be a nation that brings the sword or the plowshare? Democracy Now!"
If only we could have people like Amy, Keith, Bill Moyers, and from the publishing world - Katrina VanderHueval and a variety of bloggers as the nightly news.......

1. I can't agree more strongly
I think it's prime to getting democracy back, that there is major, well produced, and well promoted -NEWS.

2. I watch Amy every morning. She's the only news I watch
on teevee in the morning or at all, really, on a consistent basis.

She's terrific!

4. I love Amy because she holds all feet to the fire
as does Keith and Moyers.

3. she's great, and since we lost AAR here in Atlanta
she's very well needed.

5. Amy & Democracy Now Are No Secret Here
She has more affiliates than AAR and in many cases easier to hear. The problem is she's on public stations...at the "low end" of the FM dial...a hidden resource for Progressives that could be used far more...and our way to counterbalance the religious radio stations.

Here's a tip of the hat to the fine folks who volunteer at these stations...most of them poorly funded, but still a lifeboat in the sea of fetid broadcasting.
