To my beloved friends on DU.
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 08:38 AM by Bleachers7
On Friday night I posted that my time on DU will be scarce through election day. So far I have been correct. I am a little tired. My back hurts. I've been eating campaign food (soda, pizza). And I feel great. My office has contacted thousands of voters by phone. We helped facilitating contacting thousands more in person. It has been an incredible experience. I have convinced a woman that having a woman 3rd from the presidency is a great thing. I convinced a gun owner that a Democrat will not take his gun away. And I have helped volunteers convince many more. But it's not over. I implore you to abandon DU for the front lines of the election battle. The true fight is in the streets, not in the tubes. So please do everything you can for the next 40 hours so you don't regret you didn't.

3. For those who can't leave their homes, stop and get a list from Dem HQ
to make phonecalls from home. That way you can do both. But, they only give you lists if they know you - other than that you make the calls out of HQ.

Make your calls, and stay alert here.

4. Great idea.
Also check out www.callforchange.com. They have an easy program where you can call from home.

8. I've been doing it, too. I'm actually able to get answers to questions they have
on issues or whatever specific concern they have.

I find it easier than at HQ where it feels more robotic. But newer volunteers do NEED to show up at HQ to make calls.

11. It also saves the local party the money - consider it a donation -
but it really doesn't add that much more to the phone bill.
