1. I love the callers on c-span. Fun to see what people read/hear |
|
I used to turn on Rush and many of the far right just say what he does. That got old so I feel hearing c-span I know the talking points of the GOP. Never on the Dem as they can hardly get to gether enough to put out a fire. Frankly I am happy with free thinkers.

10. Face it the GOP who call say the same thing. Dem are all over |
|
the place and it is where thinking people should be. Those GOP who are Bush's base would have us all in Church and in uniform and watching Fox. It is scary as hell. I like people who think about our country. I just do not think we are going to get a lot out old Reagan's old people and Bush or a group of half-baked preachers who tell people what to do. If I hear once more that the Bible talked about the Iraq War I may in up in the funny farm.

4. One of my pet peeves, women being called "girls." |
|
How many time do you hear that in the workplace? "That girl" or "those girls" --and said "girls" may be in their 40's or 50's?

5. In some settings, it's okay. But not in any impersonal, 'professional' |
|
setting.
In the North, 'girls' - particularly among women - is the substitute for 'guys'.
'Guys' can be used in reference to 'women', only in the plural form, but not in the South, where 'gals' is used more often. Boy, do I hate 'gals'.

6. "Guys And Gals" Is A Colloquialism |
|
But I cringe when people refer to grown women as girls or little girls.

9. I understand, I also cringe when 'women' are referred to as 'females'... |
|
a term not exclusive to 'humans', thus suggesting women are less than human.
The military uses that a lot.

But I know "little girl" certainly is... My friend and business partner who is more liberal than me on many issues but not gender issues calls women "little girls". I alway tell him this isn't the 1950's...

She's made prediction correctly in past elections and now that she's predicting Democrats will win, they don't like it.
