Here's an idea for a voting study: success of male candidates with "girl" names. |
|
Here in good ol' Pennsylvania, we've got Lynn Swann and Shannon Royer both running as Republicans, both male. Looking at the signs along the highway this morning, I got to thinking...we often hear that the US populace will never elect a black or female president. I wonder what the statistics might be regarding the success and/or failure of male candidates of either party who have what are traditionally considered to be "girls" names. Anybody know if a study like this has ever been done?

"Shannon" was NEVER used as a girl's name. Times change. Hell, I have a boy's name -Ariel.
