I'm sick as a dog, but I can't wait to vote!!
First thing tomorrow morning I'm driving my ass down to the Masonic Hall and vote one by one for every Dem on the ballot. I'm also going to vote against the dumbass wingnut anti-gay amendment the bigots in our Statehouse have managed to stick onto the ballot in the hope of motivating their pathetic, hate-filled "base." I've come down with the world's worst cold (brought home from daycare by our adorable son) and I feel like shit, but I'll vote tomorrow if I have to crawl, sneezing and coughing, out to the car and back. Just try and stop me.

16. I like to show up on election day--
I get a better feel for the general vibe that way, and I like the idea that I'm putting my ballot directly into the poll-worker's hand, as opposed to sending it through the mail. Most likely, if I can get there early in the day, the lines will be short and will move quickly.

5. Me too!
I've been coughing my head off for a week. Unfortunately I can't make phone calls or work outside the polls tomorrow handing out Democratic literature. But nothing is going to come between me and the voting machine tomorrow!

Hope you feel better!

6. Sneeze at the Repugs, while you're at it
No, it won't keep them from voting, but it will make them regret doing so.

If you take a lot of OTC medicine, that cold will be gone in a week. If you just use chicken soup and rest, it will hang on for seven days.

17. My wife makes a matzoh ball soup that is both delicious and
a potent anti-viral drug. A couple of bowls of that, along with one or two hot toddies (plenty of Bushmill's, hot water, lemon juice and honey), and I may not be cured, but I no longer give a damn.

11. WOW!
I'll stop whining about having the flu now. :wow:

I've never thought about people who were in the hospital on voting day. It seems like there should be some sort of special absentee ballot for situations like yours.

9. me too
My daughter is home sick with strep throat and I'm experiencing flu like symptoms. If there's a long line tomorrow, I'm going to have to save a place in line and then stand a few feet away. I figure if I explain to the person behind me that I'm sick as a dog then s/he won't mind holding my place if it means I don't have to stand close to them.

The only thing that bugs me is that I won't be taking my daughter with me. I've been taking her to the voting booth with me ever since she was born. My parents did the same thing with me...not only was I able to go to school late on voting day, but it set me up to be very excited the first time I was able to vote myself. :)
