Final Q-Poll has has Lieberman up 50-38 over Lamont
Quinnipiac came out with its final poll.

Lieberman: 50%
Lamont: 38%
Schlesinger: 8%

GOP voters favor Lieberman 79%-16% (for Schlesinger) 3% for Lamont.
Independent voters favor Lieberman 52-35-7 (Lieberman, Lamont, Schlesinger)
Democrats favor Lamont over Lieberman 66-27 percent

So how can Lamont, possibly win this? First, lets hope that once some Republicans get into the voting booth they remember that on social issues such as choice and the death penalty, ect that Lieberman is a liberal and will at the last minute switch from Lieberman to Schlesinger--upping his percentage from 8% to 12-15 percent.

Second, Let's hope that Democrats vote in strong numbers, yes, Lieberman is still getting more than a quarter of the Dem vote. But hopefully Lamont's people are more motivated to vote. Also, I keep hearing (mostly on KOS) that Lamont has the better GOTV operation.

Let's hope for the best!

3. Lieberman may indeed win. But will he survive?
If there's a Blue tide tomorrow, and Lieberman is re-elected, he may find himself with rather a whole lot less power than he's used to having, and with six years to be subjected to the political version of the Death of A Thousand Cuts.

And there are plenty of Democrats in Connecticut who are willing to whittle him down in time for the 2012 senatorial primary.

5. It's just disappointing
that someone who is supposed to be of the highest ethical caliber would walk out of a primary the loser and run on a new ticket in the same general election.

As far as I'm concerned Lieberman is gaming the system and he's dishonest and unethical and should not be allowed to be a politician at this point.

But, then again, you get what you vote for. If a quarter of the democrats who plan to vote for Lieberman had any sense of propriety, they would have let the joementum die a natural political death and voted their party and principle.

7. Does Connecticut have a Dem governor?
Because if Lamont doesn't win, and Lieberman for Lieberman decides to take another job that better benefits himself, Lamont could still be appointed later. He's proven himself.
