OK, who will we watch for Election Night Coverage?
Two years ago, I sat in front of the computer, flipping from lib site to site...with the TV also on, changing from channel to channel. I checked in with DU at times, but it was moving too fast, and was too chaotic to get a real idea of what was going on.

Anyone know who will have the best TV coverage, and which websites will have the best updated coverage?

networks channels every once in a while.

5. Comedy Central.
Hopefully, they won't be covering the elections.

I'll read about it on Wednesday morning in the local rag.

6. CSPAN & the BBC will both have excellent election night coverage.

You might also try the BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/default.stm

They have an entire section in the Americas section on the US elections. They will have videos as well. It is a good perspective to get the news on our elections from over the pond.

16. I'm sorry. You're ignoring the Candy Crowley hurl factor
Taking that into account, your only choices are MS/NBC (Olbermann and Tweety) or C-SPAN (with call-ins). Both promise to be entertaining.

C-SPAN's Republican call-in line ought to be *very* entertaining as the kool-aid drinkers continue to say "Republicans are going to ***WIN***" while everything around them is collapsing.

I'll probably flip back and forth.

13. I'll probably alternate b/w TV and the internet...
mostly TV due to it being in front of the comfy chair.

But, I don't have cable...what's likely to be the best option for those of us who don't pay for TV?

PBS? or one of the networks? Which network is likely to be best?

Stewart/Colbert? I had already planned to check in with Stewart/Colbert, but figured that would be more comedy instead of real news/updates. What do you think about NBC? Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw? (If I did not have cable, cnn or msnbc, I think I would go with NBC.) Don't think I could stand whats-her-name on CBS or ABC-fox-lite.

17. I'm going to the
county dems party where our candidate will be. Should be exciting. I'm going to record the local cable because I want to see their faces when they say (hopefully) that Weeney Sweeney lost to Kirsten Gillibrand. They seem to love him so much, they have given him coverage on his every move they might be crying on the air.

18. personally, I like to channel-hop . . .
while I'm doing that, my computer will be tuned to DU, where anything of import will be reported, and probably sooner than the networks and cable news channels get it . . . it will also be interesting to see how the online take on things differs from that of the BushCo media . . .

I think I'll stick to CSPAN and CNN.

And I choose CNN over MSNBC because, while Olbermann is great, I find Blitzer/Zahn/Cooper/Dobbs much less irritating and much more fair than Tweety/Tucker/Scarborough/Cosby/O'Donnell.

26. I'm not entirely sure about MSNBC but in re: to CNN...
they do keep advertising that beginning at 7 p.m. (99% sure there) Blitzer/Zahn/Cooper/Dobbs go on together live until midnight EST when Larry King takes over.

A lot of people seem to be saying that KO will be on for 12 hours straight but I'll only believe that when I see proof otherwise I find it hard to believe. I'm sure Tweety (and Russert'll probably be around) will rule the roost as usual. But IIRC from 2004, all the MSNBC people sat around a table together with Tweety moderating.
