Tuesday: Not a good day to be a Freeper.
I'm usually the last person to engage in premature gloating, but in this case I'll make an exception. Tomorrow, after six years of having things go more or less their way, our friends on the weird extreme of the right-wing are going to feel the way we felt in November 2000, 2002, and 2004. It will not be a good day to be a Freeper.

I hope we have all learned something from the self-immolation of the Republican party during the past few years. It is a lesson we should take to heart, because what we have right here is a chance to start turning things around. So let's take heed of the mistakes the Republicans have made, and try to avoid them ourselves.

And let's all enjoy the fact that tomorrow's election won't be about homosexual athiest wetbacks crossing the border to get married and burn the flag. (Apologies to someone-or-other from whom I stole that joke.)

Speaker Pelosi... Has a nice ring to it, eh? Which reminds me... As someone who lived in San Francisco for many years, I've got a big problem with the Freeper massive insulting my former home with this bullshit about "San Francisco Values." Where the fuck do these people get off insulting my adopted home? It's as if we'd run the 2000 campaign on the slogan "Don't vote for Teckis redneck." It's insulting in the extreme.

Well, this is turning into a bit of a ramble. All I meant to do at the beginning was take a shot at the freepers, and possibly convey on some basic level the fundamental faith in American democracy that leads me to believe that tomorrow will be the beginning of an attempt to set things right.

Yes sir, probably time to put down the bottle of single malt scotch now. Can't be celebrating *too* early.

3. Hey, a lot of Republicans are about to vote for us.
I think it's important to distinguish between mainline Republicans and freepers. The freepers are just... icky.

4. Took a peek over at FR to see what the hive is buzzing about.
Not much. There are a few threads and most are saying that they'll win...but there is not much enthusiasm. The echo chamber is pretty quiet.

5. Indeed.
The less reality-based of the Freeper population are actually forecasting Republican gains in both houses. I can entertain the notion that they might stem the tide, but to actually gain seats in this political climate?

Well, hell. Here's hoping they cry election fraud and we've finally got an issue we can work on together.
