Jim Cramer (CNBC's Mad Money) Pimps a Halliburton Go-Private Scheme
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 04:51 PM by CorpGovActivist
Jim Cramer of CNBC's Mad Money has been yammering about Halliburton for weeks and months now. Today, he's in overdrive: http://secure2.thestreet.com/cap/login/rm_mbp_yho_150wc_ads.jsp?cm_ven=YAHOO&cm_cat=PREMIUM&cm_ite=003190&flowid=67d97be2bf&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thestreet.com%2Fp%2F_yahoo%2Frmoney%2Fjimcramerblog%2F10320244.html

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=jim+kramer+kbr+ipo

Cramer doesn't "get it," apparently. Nothing - and I do mean NOTHING - that allows Cheney and his minions to get away with it will occur without shareholder lawsuits, and a very real fight.

Not sure what Cramer's vested interest is in all his pumping and pimping of the Halliburton stock, but it's beginning to attract other MSM attention now, too.

3. Yep - another attempt to control Kerry. Last thing any of the fascists want
is Kerry in office opening the books on BushInc.

The Boston Globe is owned by the NYT.

... and it's amazing to me that he hasn't been hauled in by what few hairs he has left, by the SEC.

12. There is no "suppose" about it...
And don't even try to lecture/educate me on SRI. You don't know whats in my portfolio so don't be so quick to make assumptions about how Cramer has influenced my choice of trades.

You don't like him... fine. Like I said, I do... Nuff said.

16. What Do You Make of His Go-Private Memo for Halliburton?
Think that's consistent with SRI, given the asbestos liabilities, and the Dresser retirees' canceled medical coverage?

18. I ignored it. I don't trade HAL....
Cramer is one of hundreds of top analysts in this country. As such, his job is to look across all sectors, all companies and provide analysis as to what "HE" believes would be the right move for a company/investor to make. I am not sure why you keep trying to tie the SRI initiative to Cramer specifically (other than perhaps you got burned on a trade he recommended in the past) or any other analyst for that matter since "socially responsible investing" is the duty of the trader/investor... not the analyst.

21. Cramer's "Analysis"...
... of the situation at Halliburton is very far afield of the mark. Any move to take HAL private would result in appropriate shareholder lawsuits.

Ever wonder how much GE - Cramer's employer - has invested in Halliburton, or the other stocks he pumps, pimps, and pans?

25. Anyone remember when Cramer got into trouble "whispering" picks to
"Maria" and CNBC started to "disclose" the anylists picks and who they were working for and if they had those "stocks" in their portfolio?

"Maria" (and I like her) seems to get "lots of whispers" since her hubby is a big Wig on Wall St. and she still manages to "hob nob" with the Aspen Folks.

Still..Maria's inside influence through her hubby has done wonders for CNBC when it turned to the "Dark Side" after buying out the old "FNN" and the Dot Com Boom turned even the "honest leaning" into "Crooks & Liars" whoreing for the Rich and Famous.

Cramer had a few good things early on...but like the rest in the latter yers of Clinton Administration (DotCom Boom, etc.) and Corporate take over of our Media...they all turned to "Corporate Media Facilitators." Rather than Report on the Markets ...they became PART AND PARCEL OF THE MARKETS.

It's like everything out there today. COMMERCIALISM RULES! To HELL with Principles and Integrity.

15. Cramer seperates his politics from his job
He has donated to Dems before and is friends with Elliot Spitzer.

He says take emotion out of investing and if you make money give it to your favorite cause.

24. You forgot the "Penny Stocks" he was promoting with caveats and the
way he cleverly disguises his opinions with so much "booyah" that the "song and dance" is hidden except for the most clever investor...who would keep Jim "in the business" on MSNBC.

19. Is he hard of hearing?
I sometimes will be channel surfing and land on his program. Why must he always be screaming? It annoys me to no end. Regardless of how good he may be or not I couldn't watch anyone screaming through a whole program.

20. Cramer doesn't care about Cheney and his minions.
Not one bit. No conscience. No soul. Not even a political affiliation. Only the desire to make MAD MONEY in the stock market. If he could make money by endorsing the Communist Party, he'd do it.

I sometimes catch Kudlow & Company, what a joke of a show. Roger Alies programmed CNBC pretty well to pull the economic party line.
