Question: Polling times, results etc |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 05:17 PM by canetoad
For those of us in other countries.
Here in Melbourne we are 16 - 19 hours ahead of US, which means we won't be seeing any results until Wednesday. What times does polling close? How early can we expect accurate results or predictions? And apart from here and the news sites, are there any other good sites to keep us up to date on trends etc.
Thanks for any info.

I'd watch DU for web sites with results. (That's what I do, between flipping TV stations for "live" results.
Although exit poll results will be known sooner, Americans are recently shy about reporting them (think 2000 and 2004 where exit polls showed Gore and Kerry winning handily) so if they are to be "had" you'll hear it here, not on TV.
Results start coming in an hour or two after polls close so look for the first results based on counting (or exit polls if they are reported) at 7 pm EST.
(PS I love that you "foreigners" are rooting for us!)

I wish it wasn't so, but suspect the timing of WW3 may be dependent on this election.
