I heard on the radio that Bush compared himself to Churchill and Truman in FL
today. Something about how they did what was right even when their poll numbers were down--and "so will I"

3. He's made those comparisons before. Rove

is said to compare him to McKinley, which is more on target.

13. Welcome onboard!
Once the results sink in, I suspect that he'll order the windows at the WH sandbagged. Rummy, Cheney, and Bush will be making their last stand there. "You'll never take us alive, Demmies!"

6. He must be reading his own press releases...
As I recall, Bush was compared to these two (and Lincoln and FDR as well) by the Corporate Media. I think it was right after 9/11. Maybe when Rove sent the Corporate Media a fax with these post-9/11 comparisons, he included a copy for Bush who actually believed it.

8. Truly an ass...comparing HIMself to great leaders...how arrogant
When it comes to history, Bush will be seen as a dangling participle.

(dangling participle or hanging participle or unattached participle -
Walking back home yesterday, a tree nearly fell on my head. If strict logic is applied to that sentence, it should mean that the tree was walking back home.)

11. It doesn't count unless other people compare you to a great man
you moron. Ask the rest of us who we compare you to. Let's see...Paris Hilton...Kim Jung Il...The Donner Party...the architect of the Titanic...the Pharoah who drowned chasing Moses...George Armstrong Custer...Moe from the Three Stooges...Gilligan...

Do I need to go on?
