Rice denies suggestions that the Saddam verdict was timed with US elections

http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/IBO650626.htm

<snip>

Rice vehemently denied suggestions that the verdict, whose full written version will not be available for several days, was timed to help the Republican campaign.

"These are brave people who carried out this process and it is an insult to them to suggest that it was somehow timed to something American," she said.

5. Oh, come on!
Don't insult my intelligence. People only believe blatant lies when you have some credibility. You have none. So don't even try. We were told that this would happen and it did. There really isn't any evidence that you can give contrary.

6. Bullshit. We put that dog and pony show together.
We kept Saddam in our custody, and we directed the players. I am amazed she actually thinks anyone believes what comes out of her foul mouth.

8. Well then.....
....why was it postponed until two days before the election? Any reasonable person would suspect its timing done like this. Rice is a liar. She signed on knowing she would have to lie for Bush, That is what she does! IT'S ALL SHE DOES !!!! SHE IS....THE PREVARICATOR ! ! !

10. Timing of Saddam Death Sentence Verdict: Utterly Stupid.
The Bush-Cheney's Administration is incredibly stupid. Announcing the death sentence verdict against Saddam two days before the U.S. election in hopes of appeasing critics of their Iraq debacle was seen by Iraqis in Iraq and observers throughout the world as a cheap political trick. The cheap trick, however, has heavy consequences for the poor Iraqi folks struggling to survive the U.S. devastation:

As the Dahr Jamail Iraq website <http://dahrjamailiraq.com>reports today:

The picture of a split society was completed by protests and anger in
Sunni-dominated areas of Iraq, particularly in Baghdad and in al-Anabar
province to its west. Facing repression now from a Shia-dominated
government under U.S. influence, Sunnis have adopted the former leader
as one of their own.

"In Baghdad's predominantly Sunni neighbourhood al-Adhamiya, Iraqi police
battled resistance members armed with machine guns. In Saddam Hussein's
hometown Tikrit, thousands defied a curfew to carry pictures of Saddam
through the streets.

"The divisions were deepened further when Iraqi army units attacked
pro-Saddam demonstrators in many areas. Sunni television channels Zawra
and Salahedin that aired pro-Saddam demonstrations were immediately shut
down and raided by Iraqi security forces.

"The closure of the two networks has infuriated Sunnis further. The move
appeared similar to the U.S.-ordered closure of the newspaper al-Hawza
of Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, which sparked his first uprising against
occupation forces two years back.

"In a country where sectarian death squads are killing on average more
than 100 people a day in the capital city alone, another polarising
event is the last thing Iraq needs at this time.

The Bush-Cheney cabal just does not give a damn about the consequences of their actions on other human beings.

How can we ever make amends to the Iraqis who have seen their families killed and maimed, their homes and cities destroyed, in the
senseless Bush holocaust? All of our American flags should be flown at half mast for the next one hundred years in shame for what Bush and his fellow criminals have done.
