Has the Democratic Party screwed up again?
Reading DU and various other sites, it seems like the Repugs are at it again: using push calling, robocalls, and other dishonest tactics to try to suppress the Democratic vote. But, I haven't read even one instance of Democrats or progressive groups doing the same? While honesty and integrity is all good and well, the fact is the Republicans have written the rules of the game and no one has unwritten them yet. If the Republicans sleaze machine achieves its aim as it did in 2000 and 2004, all we'll have left for our efforts is our honor and integrity. Is it worth it?

27. At the risk of being concern-troll enabling
(not that I'm calling the OP a concern troll, but this message might be considered comforting to them what are) yeah, actually, I would feel a whole lot warmer and fuzzier if I were hearing about Republicans getting ratfucked by sleazy Democratic operatives.

3. Yes, it's worth it not to sink to their level. The rethugs will be getting
plenty of negative press over this; it's already started. I'm sure lawsuits aren't far behind.

4. yes. If the Dems did the same tricks I would not vote for them either
I don't choose who I vote for strictly by the letter (although this time I am) but because I think they are more trustworthy and more aligned with my beliefs. If they want to join the SOBs then fuck them too.

"cheating" does not equal "outsmarting" or "winning" in my book.

5. following an ethical code != screwing up. play hard, but play by the rules.
we will win even on the unfair playing field the GOP has been trying to create via redistricting and all their pathetic little tricks.

9. The trick is to win without becoming your enemy.
Anyway, given the environment in the country today, one verified instance of Dem chicanery would outweigh 10,000 Republican dirty tricks in terms of media coverage.

13. As it says in the Holy Bible, Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
The Golden Rule ALWAYS applies. You can't fight corruption with corruption. I want to elect straight, square-dealing officials into office. Thank goodness that the Democratic Party still represents fairness and legitimacy.

But here in California the Democratic Secretary of State dared to decertify Diebold and golly gee, coincidentally was smeared and scandalled out of office right after that and gee whiz, dahling sonofanazi Ahnold had a Republican standing by to replace him.

Breaking the law is not what I'd want my party to do. The republicans break the law, lie, do just
whatever it takes to win. It may or may not work this time.

There's a lot more too, and not one word of anything but disgust at these swindling fuckers. This time, I think they have got it 100% wrong with the robocalls. People don't like being misunderestimated, and what an INSULT these calls are. I think people are waking up to the visual\sound bite mind fucking that's going on. Sure, treat people as thought any piece of shallow, vicious propaganda is going to change a considered position. Sorry Possums, they got it dead wrong on this.
