Just a reminder to fellow beer swillers: Buy your beer today
No sales on election day. And you are going to need it to at first, calm your nerves, and secondly, TO CELEBRATE!!!

19. 'twas true IIRC in Indiana in 1992
which was weird, we were on the road heading home and I just wanted a six-pack to go with the pizza I was planning to order out.

So we watched the returns sober, but that was ok. Didn't need beer for that one!

20. I think so--I've never heard of such a thing before.
There are still a few areas where the supermarkets don't sell any beer or wine, but as long as you can make it to a place that does, they won't stop because it's election day.

4. No sales on election day?
Where is that at? There is plenty of beer here. And I hope to drink a few victory beers tomorrow.

5. LOL! No way -- hell in Wisconsin, they sell beer at the polls on election day
Well, okay, I exaggerate.

There's definitely no problem buying it on any day you want, though. Even election day.

6. That would depend on location
Here in AZ, that law is no longer in effect (if it ever was). I moved here in 2001 and have been able to purchase alcohol on election day.

8. I thought that was a relic of the Old South.
Most places I know of in the south have long since dropped the election day ban on alcohol sales. But I remember well when it was the law of the Southland and a drinking man or woman had to plan ahead.

9. And would be good to also fill up the gas tank
One suspects that prices might be going up "mysteriously" very soon.

12. If they didn't sell beer up here for 3 minutes...
there would be pandamonium in the streets. These people buy a case of Genesee every friggin' day. No lie. AND they're heavily armed.
:scared:

Me? Im gonna for the hard stuff. Bloody Marys or Margaritas and the champagne at 'the call'...

13. Darn it...this was a bad week to start a diet
Your post just made me realize how silly it was to start my diet this morning. I suppose I can cheat for one day to celebrate, though! (Knock on wood.)
