Well, well, well! ANOTHER Republican voter BITES THE DUST!
As I was sitting at my son's school waiting to pick him up, a man walked up to my car window. I thought FOR SURE he was going to make a snarky remark about my 30 Liberal bumper stickers on the back of my car because he was reading them as he walked up to my window, but he wanted to introduce himself to me. His son and my son hang around together and he just wanted to say hi.

He then said he also wanted to talk to me about my car and how I like it (I drive a Prius) and "THOSE BUMPER STICKERS." :7 I told him I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my car and I asked him if "it's obvious that I'm a Bleeding Heart Liberal by reading those bumper stickers? Do you think I'm going to vote tomorrow?" He laughed and said, "Yes, yes I do!" I told him I couldn't wait to vote these republicans out of office and he said....."As I grew older I became a republican, but I did vote for Gore in 2000 because I think he's a really good guy and I think the republicans stole that election." I said, "They stole that election and the 2004 election too with the evoting machines and voter disenfranchisement in Ohio." He said, "Oh, I think they DEFINITELY stole that election in Ohio!" I then asked him if he was voting tomorrow and he said, "Oh yeah! and I'm NOT voting republican!" :woohoo:

YES! That's exactly what I was hoping he would say!

He also said "It was just a matter of time before THE PEOPLE pushed back at what this administration is doing and has done." I told him my husband kept telling me that this country is full of heroes and SOMEONE will stand up and take these people down. Then we had a chuckle over the op-ed piece in The Army Times (?) and the 4 branches of the military calling for Rummy to resign. :)

I live in one of the most RED areas in Illinois. That man made-my-day!

Chin up DUers! This one belongs to us.

3. Lady I work with - voted twice for Bush voting Dem this year
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 06:36 PM by RamboLiberal
She still likes Bush but wouldn't vote for him again, hates Kerry and of course bought in to the Repuke crap last week, but I kept my mouth shut for now since she said she's voting for Bob Casey and Ed Rendell tomorrow! She can't stand Santorum now.

Hopefully another coworker I educated last week about what Kerry was trying to say and wasn't dissing the troops got the word back in the lunch room.

Oh and while digging emails out of the spam filter today I saw one Repuke coworker who forwarded a Repuke everything is great email got rebuked by his brother. I LOL'ed on that one.

14. YES! There IS a Dem running! Governor Blagojevich.
Many Illinois voters Dem and repuke alike, hate him. I LIKE him. He's given the children of Illinois health care. Our Senior Citizens can order perscription drugs at reduced costs from Canada thanks to him and he's better than TOPINKA ANY DAY!:grr:

Really, this IS NOT the year to be voting Green.:(

9. Coming out of Wally World this afternoon after handing out all my flyers
(yeah, I do buy groceries there because the nearest other store is 30 miles away) I saw a new Lexus
parked outside with half a dozen Dem stickers. One was "Impeach W"! We don't see much of that around here in 'red' eastern Oklahoma, especially on high-end cars! :D

10. My sister's new husband, too
He's actually a very nice guy, but very gullible too. He was one of the blue-collar "Reagan Democrats" that eventually went entirely dittohead. He was an obsessive Limbaugh listener throughout the 90's (at one point even made fun of my "political correctness").

Well, now he's a reader of DU and truthout.org. No way is he voting Repug this time around.

11. Doesn't that just warm your heart?
It does mine. When people know what the Democratic Party REALLY stands for, how can they NOT vote Democratic?

I'm going to go vote tomorrow with a HAPPY HEART! I can't wait to vote!
