I've been looking through a few of the state races in a few states. I've noticed that there are several of the repukes running unopposed. The state level may not be as important to the country as a whole as the national level, but I think it still should be important to the party. Why hasn't the party stepped up and recruited some opposition in these races?

1. In a lot of those states where the party is weak, the tendency |

has been to cherry pick just a few races and leave a lot of them either uncontested or nominally contested.
Alaska has been messed up by this phenomenon for years.
