Durn. I haven't felt this way since I was a kid on Xmas Eve. |
|
Time to turn the tree lights on and set out the mug of cocoa and some Rice Krispies treats. I won't be able to sleep either.
Oh, don't forget the lumps of coal and switches for GOP grinches.

I've been almost counting the hours until the polls close tomorrow. I can't decide whether to stock up on chocolate, or vodka. I might do both.

3. I am afraid to get too excited, as I remember disappointments |
|
as a child on Christmas gifts when my eyes were bigger than my parents' funds.
Just in case everything goes the way it should, I have an entire box of Orville Redenbacher's buttered/salted white microwave popcorn ready to go (not supposed to have it) and a couple bottles of Coke to wash it down. All appointments and duties are done or on-hold, and the family has been notified I am not to be bothered with any crisis until Wednesday.
If Rove wasn't cut off at the knees and the election turns out foul, all bets are off and I may not emerge until after the 2008 election. I don't think I can take another disappointment like 2004. It would be like receiving that danged briefcase for my piano music books when I was 10.
