Will you remain as active in DU after the election as you are now?
I've have friends tell me that after the election, they are going to "take a break" from politics. I saw a great deal of this after the 2004 election. Unfortunately, I think this would be a dangerous time to let up on our goals, whether we are successful tomorrow, or especially, heaven forbid, if we are not.

7. Have to remain active
just because the dems won doesnt mean we won the war so to speak. The repukes will be pulling a rash of crap and trying to blame the dems for it. You know the old saying keep your friends close but keep your enemies closerl, so we cant take time off.....maybe after jan 20, 09.

I might take a few days off. After 2004 I was so depressed I couldn't log on to DU for two weeks.

15. That is when I joined.
I guess my fear is if the unthinkable happens, many people will become greatly discouraged. However, having said that, I am truly hopeful and optimistic tonight, so disregard the negatives. :)

11. Yes. Even if we win and win big we still have work to do.
I hold the Democratic party up to the same standards as the Republicans. That's the difference between us, we will actually call our own out if they fuck up. A close eye has to be kept on all.

Definitely!
The work will be just beginning. We have to keep after the dems too and make sure they are doing what they said. Our voices must still b heard, loud and clear.

Although I might just take a day off later this week to sleep!

13. I will not rest until we have a solid 2/3rds majority

of the House, the Senate, 100 percent of the Presidency, 2/3rds of the governorships.... and on down the line.

Hell, I want 2/3rds of the dog catchers in the United States to be progressive Democrats.

We have MAJOR problems facing our country in a few short decades, problems that only progressive minds can solve.

Never Forget: George W. Bush willfully violated National Security to cover-up his willful launch of a war of aggression and illegal occupation of Iraq .... and, now he willfully provided nuke-making instructions to terrorists -- if you doubt it, just check 'the google'

24. The power of the internet is just beginning!
As a former webmaster for a large corporate intranet, I totally support online communications. Not only does it give "us" a place to voice our concerns and opinions, but it gives our leaders an easy opportunity to gauge their constituents' wants and needs. I continue to hope that our Democratic leadership is lurking here to to read our concerns, AND more importantly to gain ideas. I feel that Dean as DNC leader has been a facilitator of this medium.

25. I'll take a day off and that is about all I can stand.
I'll read the papers (online!) the day after the elections and I'll probably watch the news but I sure am not going into my office or going into a campaign HQ on Wed.

I've been here at DU for a long time and I suppose I'll stick around for as long as I'm allowed to. This is a community in every sense of the word and it is my online "home" for news and information.

Regards!

30. I've always been an avid reader, but I've been away a lot since Oct. 19th
(the day that early voting began through Nov. 2). Was busy before those dates, and I'll say that I'll probably be logged in a little more after tomorrow, or the next day!

I may actually be here more after the election!! :hi:
