I just read Skinner's post about usage tomorrow and the possibilty that users may not be able to access the site. I would like to help out IF this happens. I have a personal website on bellsouth.net that has a good java based chatroom on it. Please feel free to use it if needed. I also have a website that I added a PHP based chatroom on. I'm not sure how well it works, and if anyone here wants to check it out and thinks they can do something with it better than it is, I'll make you an admin so you can fix it up. the owner does do that because it is amazing some of the attacks that try to get trough. I hate that you do not like the Yahoo group but the owner really does do it for protection against those who would troll. Just to give full disclosure, I am a mod for the Yahoo group.

was intended. The times I've gone there it appeared to me that anything like real-time conversations were pretty much impossible. I understand about the security needs for trolls but I don't know enough about the nuts and bolts of it to offer any constructive suggestions.

I do understand your frustration. There are only so many mods and if we happen to not be at our computer, your post could wait all day to be approved. I have tried to be on top of approving items tonight and I have approved a bunch of members as well. I will be in and out tomorrow as I have to do the kid stuff as well as voting stuff. I imagine DU will get bogged down and I imagine a bunch of people will try to post at the panic room. I should be on the ball after 5:30 or so EST tomorrow evening. And, of course, there are other mods who do the same thing.

Just try to be patient and we always do try to get to posts as soon as possible. I am really sorry for any delays. I will be on the ball tomorrow night, I promise.

I set it up a couple years ago prior to the '04 election. Haven't really visited it since, so it was almost like opening a time capsule. Notice the "Two Faces Of Bush" graphics.
