Rainy weather bad for Democratic voter turnout?
I just heard this little piece of "information" on CNN radio news today.

They said that inclement weather favors Republican turnouts by an average of 2%.

Anyone ever heard of this before?

1. Yeah, we discussed this on a post yesterday, or the day before...
I'm glad the weather picture isn't so bad overall...

3. Probably bad for whoever is the least motivated to vote.
In this case it would be the Repukes. :D

6. I heard they're predicting rain in eastern TN tomorrow
and that the eastern part of the state is much more Republican. So that should help there.

Or so they say.

7. Those deflated rightwingers are better off toasting their heels
in front of a cozy fire. Why bother trudging through miserable rain to cast a vote for the perverted party of hypocritical scumbags?

4. Nothing, rain, sleet, snow, nor hail will keep me away from the voting booth tomorrow.
more propaganda to make us think twice about voting. Why is this even news that should be discussed on the eve of voting day? VOTER SUPPRESSION!

5. It's been said every
election and I don't know if it is true but even if it is this election might work the opposite way. The repukes have little enthusiam to come out to vote and they might just be the ones to stay home. The dems are angry and can really taste victory this time too.

8. Bullfeathers
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 09:15 PM by Rosemary2205
It rained like all billy heck and colder than snot in my heavily Democrat precinct in 04 and everyone - including the infirm and moms with babies were lined up in the rain for up to 10 hours trying to throw Bush out. People were banding together doing everything possible to help the needy in that line to be more comfortable and stay dry. Locals brought a bunch of "easy up" camping shelters and folding chairs and put them up against each other in the parking lot for people to stand or sit under.

To say Democrats stay home if the weather is bad is just silly.

10. Based on the images of Democrats waiting hours in the rain in Ohio
in 2004, I'd say that depends on what you mean by "bad for turnout." It does seem to help the pukes with their dirty tricks and voter suppression.

11. That's the reason that I vote early, My health is not always so good, and I would not like to depen
depend on just that one day to be able to vote. Bad weather, sick family, could all interfere with the ability to vote. Voting early is the only sure way to insure that you do get to have your voice heard.
