Well, here's the second person I know who died in one of Bush's wars...
http://www.wtov9.com/news/10233398/detail.html

A soldier from Weirton has died in a land mine blast in the mountains of Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Sergeant Charles John "C.J." McClain died Wednesday.

McClain's sister, Alexandria Manley of Weirton, said her 26-year-old brother was a demolition expert, but she did not know details of the explosion that killed him.

She said he told his mother in a telephone call two weeks ago that he was afraid to go back into the mountains.

How many more have to die so Bush can feel like a big man?

1. I'm so sorry for your loss...
It is sickening that these war criminals are not on trial right next to Saddam!!!

Let us take back OUR Nation...

In the name of EVERY American that had to die for BushCo oil and power.

Godspeed C.J.

8. Amen.
OUR nation can wrest control of itself from the warmongerers who hold the reins, if only we TRUE Americans are willing to stand up and fight.

C.J., your death shall not be in vain, I swear it.

2. I'm sorry, Straightdope.
I wish that I had an answer for "How many more have to die so Bush** can feel like a big man."

Peace to you and to Sergeant McClain's family and friends.

4. Funny thing is, he and I almost got into a fight once...
Over a woman, no less. We made peace, and I hadn't heard from him in years. I had no idea that he had gone to the service. It was quite a shock to see this... Burn in hell, George W. Bush.

5. Yessirree!
I'm from a town 2 minutes south of there, Follansbee, WV. I wish I could describe to you how few options there are as far as employment and bettering one's station in life. The military is one of the few viable choices for those who don't attend college.

So, Bush*, what about Kerry's botched joke again? Because so many brave Americans have died from that, right?

9. Huntington,
Ashland, Ironton area myself, and I went the marine route in 81.

Check out Joe's rant on the options available to us "Mutt People" when you get a chance. Really strikes home for me.

About half of the Americans killed in Iraq come from communities like Winchester, Virginia or Romney, West Virginia or Fisher, Illinois or Kilgore, Texas or ... About forty-five percent of the American dead in Iraq come from communities of less than 40,000, even though these towns make up only twenty-five percent of our population. These so-called volunteers are part of this nation's de facto draft -- economic conscription -- the carrot being politically preferable to the whip. The carrot does not have to be very big out here where delivering frozen food wholesale to restaurants out of your own car entirely on commission is considered a good self-employment opportunity. I’m serious. One of my sons did it for a couple of months.

11. Well, I've seen, with my own eyes, precisely what opportunities there are...

And the sad truth is, "Not too fucking many." At least these days... My brother is an Army Reservist, and Iraq veteran. One of my best friends is finishing up AIT for the Air Force, he's bound to go sooner or later. Another has done a tour behind the scenes in Iraq; he's a Palestinian-American Army enlistee, and is/was working as a translator.

My down-the-street neighbor was Marine 3rd I.D., he got caught in an IED explosion and subsequent ambush. He's 90% deaf in his left ear, and about 70-80% deaf in the right ear, not to mention the 7.62mm bullet wound to his shoulder, yet another friend was Military Intelligence, but he won't tell me, or anyone else, what he did whilst in Iraq. I think I know, and if I'm right, I can understand why he won't talk about his experiences.

Welcome to the front lines, rich white Republicans. This is the TRUE face of 21st century America... Young men who have no other real choice.

EDIT: Grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

14. Yep, It ain't gonna be pretty,
a lot of men are going to come home in need of real jobs, and real therapy.

My boys are too young, 10 and 16, and only a few family members are still in the service, the timing on this one missed us for the most part. Those who are still in have been spared service in theater for one reason or another.

I'm going back to Buchanan in a couple weeks for some hunting with my older brother, we don't talk about this shit either cause two hillbillys in the woods heavily armed with political disagreements ain't ever a good thing.

He never served and is the most right wing fundie type we have in the family, not really a chicken hawk just uber national. He is mellowing some and the BS going on has more to do with it than I ever could.

15. Enjoy your hunting trip.
Great hunting downstate... Good luck on avoiding politics with your brother. Keeping that shit out of the discourse is easier said than done.

6. Gee, I'm really sorry about another young life
lost because of an inhuman cabal of troglodytes need to posture to appear warrior like. I am so sorry for you and the young man's family.

7. "...the young man's family."
That's what concerns me most as well. I do believe that he was their only son... I can't imagine what they must be going through.

12. Watch out for those fertility drugs...
My cousin had problems conceiving, and resorted to that option... She's now the proud mother of triplets! (2 identical, one fraternal). Be careful what you wish for!
