freeper: referendum is mob rule
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1733087/posts

"Enough people do want to legalize medical marijuana."

Actually, no. First, it's legal in only 11 or 12 states. Second, in every state but two, the people approved medical marijuana by referendum, not through the legislature. Mob rule.

------

Uhhhh....damn. Get out and vote tomorrow and get these assholes out of power!

From Wiki:

In the United States, the term "referendum" typically refers to a popular vote to overturn legislation already passed at the state or local levels (mainly in the western United States). By contrast, "initiatives" refers to newly drafted legislation submitted directly to a popular vote as an alternative to adoption by a legislature. Collectively, referendums and initiatives in the United States are commonly referred to as ballot measures, initiatives or propositions.

1. ROFL! It's 'democracy' when they're voting to ban gay marriage...
but it's 'mob rule' when they're voting for something the wingnuts don't like. ROFLMAO!!!

2. Don't they pretty much think that voting is mob rule?
I kind of get the impression that their preferred political system would be along the lines of the old Soviet Union. Yeah, you get to vote, but only for who the Party tells you to vote for. If you try to act against the Party, you get tossed in the Gulag, or into a mental hospital.

3. Cannabis (pot) is mentioned as a helpful drug in the Bible
It was common for women in labor to suck the leaves for pain relief. It is a nature made helpful drug.
