If Dems believe we're ahead...could that lower turnout? |
|
I'm hearing so much in the media--about the Dems being so far ahead in the polls. They talk as if we've all ready captured the House.
This is great news. Don't get me wrong. However, I'm concerned that continual news of imminent Dem victories could sour Dems from coming out to the polls.
If most people think that the Dems have it "in the bag" will this cause more Dems to stay home and not vote?

1. Best way to prevent that is to get the hell out there and vote anyway! |
|
Tell people we need a big cushion against the Diebolding.

I'm voting bright and early tomorrow--and then I'm working the phones from 8:30 am until 6:00 pm in my precinct.
We will be calling people until the records show that they have cast their votes!
I'll be reminding people--on the phone--that we absolutely need to get out there and vote. Polls are meaningless unless people pull that lever for the Dems!

2. That could be a ploy to try to sucker people not to vote.. |
|
I don't think any Dems take voting for granted....I think we are going to see an amazing record breaking turnout..

11. LOL! I like your attitude! |
|
I feel the same way.
I want Junior to feel this defeat---right down to his cells walls! I want the man to go to be terminally humiliated--and clutching a teddy bear!
These extremist freaks need to be sent a clear message---that America has overwhelmingly rejected their radical, out-of-the-mainstream agenda!

4. As of today there has been much handwringing |
|
about some polls showing the Reps supposedly making gains. I don't know how accurate these polls are, but they've made people nervous; I don't think the Dems are relaxing at all.

They are from pollsters who *presume* that the Repukes will close the gap, so they tweak their models so the polls show that the Repukes are closing the gap. It's all foma. Don't believe the polls. Vote!

9. Even so, there has been some worrying. That's OK, if it makes people vote. |
|
Bad polls, good polls, no polls. Just vote.

5. I don't think ANYTHING could lower turnout at this point |
|
Democrats are pissed off and motivated. Republicans are emasculated, humiliated and tired of being fucked over. They'll either stay home or vote their conscience once the proverbial curtain is closed. But I think we'll be seeing record turnouts all over the place.

6. The only thing that could suppress Dem votes |
|
is Rove's illegal robo calling.
Yes, it will be found illegal after the fact and people will have to pay fines.
However, it just might work, especially those 3 AM calls that don't identify themselves as GOP until the end of the message and sound like Dem calls in the beginning. That's illegal as hell but will piss a lot of voters off.
I wish we had a mechanism in the Constitution for challenging elections that get this dirty.

GOTV!
I'm scheduled to call for 10 hours tomorrow, so I hope to reach hundreds of Dem voters.
