National Election Day...A proposal.
I know that election day is set by law, but can we start a movement for it to become a holiday? The businesses of this nation can certainly spare their workers one day to allow them to attend to their most important responsibility. They can give back this much to the consumer base that sustains them to allow them to vote. Has there ever been a formal movement to do this? Why not have Dems propose this in Congress? I know * and the Rs trotted out Citizenship Day, but that didn't free up people to get to the polls. Why not have a full court press to educate the people (yes, civics classes again) on our rights and responsibilities and make it easier for them to vote.
