MSM keeps talking about momentum swinging toward the GOP
En route to work this morning I heard three separate news reports about "polls showing a swing in momentum in favor of Republicans."

What analysis, aside from Rove's fevered imaginings, is showing this momentum shift? What has come to light in the past 24 hours, aside from the Hussein verdict that IMO serves only to remind the electorate that Iraq is still a hellishly botched quagmire?

9. Oh, hell yes! Try and stop me!
The MSM hasn't influenced my vote at all (except to make me even more sure about my vote for Dems), but I'm still maddened by the constant drumbeat for a Republican surprise victory. Even NPR trips over itself in its hurry to report on the momentum shift.

Very frustrating!

4. It's the swift blade of Justice...
Funny they should mistake it for momentum.

8. They're providing cover...
for a stolen election. The "last-minute-swing" along with the 2006 version of "values voters" will e all that these asshats will be talking about if Rove and the gang steal another one.

10. I hate to say it
but I think that might be what's happening. Not the momentum shift...the Reporting of a momentum shift to set the stage for the "Wow...the GOP pulled it out after all! Isn't Karl Rove an amazing genius? blah, blah, blah"
I feel that's what happened in 04 and...as much as I hate to sound Doom and Gloom...I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen again.

12. The big argument against that IMO
Is that, if it's true, they started really really late. It's not as though they've been running neck-and-neck for three weeks; Dems have had a clear and growing lead in a large number of races. It would amaze me if the Repubs had been so short-sighted that they failed to begin catapulting this particular propaganda until the morning of Election Day.

Don't lose hope yet!

13. Not to worry...
I'll never give up hoping. Your argument also makes perfect sense. I honestly believe that Democrats will be voting in much larger number than republicans. From those that I know on both sides..there isn't a sense of urgency on the part of the repubs like there is with dems. Some repubs I know don't even plan to vote. Not so with Dems!

15. And if that does happen I see
a massive revolution in our future. Maybe not right away but when it gets bad enough with the "genius" rove in charge and The People know they have been cheated out of their votes then and only then will we see big change.

11. They keep talking about a mild swing in (some) generic "Dem-Repub" polls.
Besides the fact that the latest one of those polls (CNN yesterday) showed a 20 POINT lead by Dems, those polls don't tell the story of the election at all! And yet they will write (as in yesterday's USAToday) entire front page stories as if they do, ignoring all of the individual-race polling that consistently shows Dems picking up more than enough individual House (and maybe Senate) seats to gain control.

It's as if they don't know (or purposely ignore) that there are actual seats up for grabs, and think it's just a "Dem-Repub" approval election.

14. It's either cause they got the
message from rove that the fix is in OR they want to look like they have the WHOLE OMELETTE on their face when this is over.
