Some of you may not like it, but I just voted my conscience
I couldn't sleep at night if I didn't do everything in my power to make sure there are as few Republicans running my county, my state and my country as possible. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't try to reverse the damage that has been done by Republican control of America. Straight Democratic ticket for me.

12. I quit voting straight Dem ticket because
in some of the races, the only choices were repub and libertarian & I don't want to pass up an opportunity to vote AGAINST a republican. I finally got my mom to quit voting straight Dem ticket for the same reason.

13. If it had a "Democratic" next to it, I voted for it.
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 10:50 AM by EST
The ballot did not have a box for "straight ticket," so every race had to be considered-for about ten seconds.
I am hoping a miracle happens and we dump Shimkus as rep.

There were only two other issues, regarding whether or not a couple of judges should be removed.

21. no problem with that here.
One, your vote isn't my decision. Two, I'm going to be voting straight D today too.

I'm not going to leave it at that and just expect the Dems to magically reverse the damage once they've regained some power, though. I've learned that lesson.

john wayne gacey for an unopposed judge,
George washington for clerk of something
Virginia wolf for water reclamation district
Ted Bundy for the TB board (Why, you might ask, do we have a TB board?)
Ted kozinski for appellate court

each one was unopposed, and that ain't right.

Sadly in once race the pike was the better choice. It really hurt, i felt shamed when i did it. It was for Sheriff, and the present puke is actually fairly progressive on his view of the drug war. The Dem just tried to be to tough talking. I can't vote to give myself 20yrs in prison.

I voted all Dem in the national races and independent wherever I could in the locals. I am sick of the two party system and if we don't get another party going sometime soon this country will be ruined by the false lefty righty choice IMHO.

However them congress critters all had to go so DEM all the way in the federal elections!

39. Straight party line...when will the people of California
wake up and see these repug actor "governors" for the puppets of big business that they are? Voting for Mr. Steriod who must have consulted with Karl Rove to "mastermind" the expensive, unnecessary recall that we taxpayers covered...all because Mr. Steriod knew that his maltreatment of women would be discovered sooner during a real campaign.

Word from smart people inside is that Mr. Steriod is not a bright bulb.

40. I held my nose voting for Bob Casey
I feel seriously guilt-stricken and nauseous voting for an anti-choicer, but Sick Rick Santorum has got to go. Casey's pro-Iraq war, anti-choice, pro-death penalty, I think anti-stem cell research but I'm not entirely sure. I disagree with him on most of the issues rather than all, so I can't be called a "one-issue" voter. Yech. :puke:

43. Yep. I even voted for the borderline Dems
sorry for the Republicans who are decent. This year, they're aligned with a really bad administration. And we just can't take any risks. It's that important.
This administration has set about dismantling our Constitution. So...even on a local level, if you've got an "R" by your name, you're not getting my vote.
Maybe it's time to think about the good "Rs" switching parties. Afterall, it's not like their party has anything to do with being a conservative.
Or a Christian.

45. Hey, I did that too!
I even researched all of the judges (4 freaking pages worth of names) and voted for every one of them that was endorsed by a democrat.

I don't give two shits what the candidate personally believes, if he/she is still stupid enough to align himself/herself with the most corrupt party in American history, I'm voting for the other person. Period.

Unfortunately, my straight-ticket voting forced me to fill in the circle next to Dianne Feinstein. That almost caused physical pain. But a Dem in the Senate is a Dem in the Senate...we need control back, damn it. We'll take her out next time.

46. I voted straight dem for all but one person
A minor county position with no opposition and has been doing the same job for twenty years. Huge turnout here in rural Missouri, which I see as a good sign for McCaskill. My Republican husband voted for all democrats but one -- he said he just couldn't vote straight ticket. But since McCaskill got his vote, I'm happy.
