2 REPUKES on my ballot today running UNCHALLENGED |
|
so I wrote in my husband for one of them (I hope he doesn't win! LOL! He'd KILL ME!) and I made up a name for the other just so I didn't have to cast a vote for either of them. Did you have any repukes running unchallenged on your ballot and if so, what did you do?

4. That's what I did too -- worries me that so many are voting straight ticket |
|
because it seems that it would pretty much assure repub wins where they are running against only a libertarian or independent.

2. You'd have to check on Snopes or someplace... |
|
But, I recall once long ago... Mickey Mouse almost qualified for Campaign Matching Funds.

5. I haven't voted yet - I'm gonna go sometime before lunch |
|
and I was thinking about that issue myself. There are several unchallenged Repubs running here as well.....was thinking about writing in Robin Williams! :-)

7. Oh man! I wish I would have thought of Robin Williams! |
|
That's a GREAT IDEA! Do it! You may even give a few poll workers a chuckle.:)

8. There were quite a few republicans running unchallenged |
|
in Texas. I think they were mostly judges.

You are fortunate. Here in Texas, there were 9 races with Dems/Reps/Libertarians, 3 with Reps/Libertarians, and 29 uncontested Repubs.
This is actually an improvement. Two years ago there were only 4 Dems on the ballot, and one of those was the Presidential race.

11. LOL! I did the same thing for 2004 |

Here in DuPage 13th, we always have a lot that go unchallenged. At the time, I imagined the look on in his face when results were announced. LOL!!!
It turned out to be a saving grace of sorts, though. I was poll watching and when I asked to see the machine tape, no write-ins were recording. The election judges weren't very happy with me. That had to open up the machine and go through the ballot to find the write-ins...and there were several.
In addition to Daffy Duck and Peter Fitzgerald (who had left office that year), a few people wrote things like "where's the Democratic candidate?" and "No Republicans!" It didn't matter though; not because of the number of votes but because votes for write-ins only counted of the write-in's name was on a list that the judges had been given. So, even if there had been 750 votes for Mr. Write-in Candidate, unless Mr. Write-in got his name on the list beforehand...nada.
