How Liberal blogs are blowing GOTV on election day
There is nothing positive, affirming, or motivational coming out of the liberal blogosphere today.

Yes, it's important to expose GOP dirty tricks. But, it is even more important to motivate the base.

The liberal blogosphere has an obligation to not overwhelm voters today with negativity. If we lose there will be plenty of time for that tomorrow. There should be a 25% to 75% balance. 25% of stories should point out the dirty tricks, 75% should be positive affirming stories about candidates, turn out, and agenda.

Where is the warm fuzzy?

17. There's no need to be hostile
I'm looking at kos and C&L.

Kos has one story about dems being good for the market.

35. I'm not meaning to be. But I've seen so many
fuzzy, encouraging posts here alone that I honestly didn't know what you meant. I haven't checked kos or too many other places, to be honest, but from what I have seen, there's very much a mutually encouraging "get out to vote, it's a good thing, a right thing and the only thing to do" spirit. Michael Moore has that going on on his website, for instance, and DU is lousy with it (in the best way)!

So anyway, no hostility here, just a little incomprehension.

40. I'll be more specific
Say you are just getting off work and you are thinking of running by the polls on your way home. You have to make a couple other stops too, but you want to check the news before you go. You see:

MELTDOWN 2006: PROBLEMS ACROSS US

In huge font. Are you more likely to go, or are you less likely to go?

no warm fuzzies are driving me to vote, trying to undo the harm, or at least stop it is. The GOP is doing all sorts of nasty tricks and those nasty tricks are motivating me further. That is all. Peace and thank you for helping gotv.

When they are losing, only the faithful care. We are the faithful.

Now go get busy motivating people. Search is instructive.

Edited to add, I am not voting, or motivating people to register and vote to be warm and fuzzy but to stop the goddamn occupation of Iraq, harm to the world, oppression of the people and to save our constitution from this fucked up administration that we have. Warm fuzzy? bah.

14. The liberal blog-o-sphere has no obligation to do anythin specific
There's no liberal bloggers handbook or guideline - you just do what you think is best. And while obviously it's important to vote (and a lot of bloggers do seem to be punching that mantra) it's just as important to keep track of the Republican Assholes and their tricks.

28. That may be. I think most of us here have.

But, I post on a lot of boards where people think the world is already lost and any effort is a waste of time.

I'm sick of that negative mentality.

As a movement we need to break out of that, or we will never be effective.

Watch the word smithing, basically when they put a sentence together it's arranged to sound like the REPUBLICAN SHOULD WIN, pay attention to THAT.

it's called SPIN, and you should be used to it by now..

Rememeber when half a million protesters came out against the war and the media called it "Tens of Dozens" or bullshit like that?
