If we don't win (and we will) mark my words: It was stolen.
Dems have had leads ranging from 2 to 23% for FOURTEEN MONTHS leading up to this election.

The President's approval rating hovers at 38%

The approval rating for Congress hovers around 20%...and everyone knows it's Republican-dominated.

Last night, **CNN had Dems leading by a full 20%.**

And you think for ONE MINUTE that some invisible Rovian trick can somehow magically make everyone change their minds in the last 24 hours? No. WAY. It is not possible to erase 14 months of Democratic gains in ONE DAY.

If we lose, I don't want to hear a word about how we were weak, or didn't get out the vote, or looked at somebody crosseyed and blew the election because that's BULLSHIT.

If we lose, it was stolen. Know that...and be ready to take action.

Did it work? Yeah.

We are not powerless, unless we believe it.

13. Well the Civil Rights protesrters had a leader
Martin Luther King Jr

And we have no one. Plus the media was still fluid in those days - the media actaully reported on the events of the Freedom Riders and the King marches.

Is ABC NBC CBS even mentioning the election machinery situation? to them it is still tinfoil hat stuff. The media is now controlled - had the blacks in this country waited to ask for their rights in 2004, they would have been left off the discussion table that is the current day media. (I always feel that the peace marches - as large in numbers as they prove to be are missing the point when they have us protesters stand ina city square or park rather than targeting a news media outlet...)

Of course I always forget that King himself was at one point feeling so marginalized that he decided that the only way to proceed was to take the case to high school aged people

26. Actually, NBC and ABC news has been reporting on the problems with voting
machines quite a bit lately. Granted, I'm in a big city in a blue state, but it is starting to make it to the news.

3. Yep. No other interpretation
Yet I believe they will try to steal it anyway. Awareness is a lot higher now than 2 years ago. The days of election results in a day are over.

10. Aren't computers amazing?
They can do a brazillion calculations a second even in a TI hand held calculator. But suddenly, in the hands of the government and their GOP henchmen, it is going to take days and maybe weeks to add up that which a bunch of people used to do in an evening without the technological "advancement."

HAVA should have been named SAVA...the Steal America's Vote Act.

4. In New Mexico during the 2004 elections, Hispanics
went to the polls and didn't vote for a President about 500% more than whites. In 2004, all the exit polls showed Kerry winning and yet the corporate media mocked anyone who dare suggest the election was stolen. Seems American voters went to the polls and forgot who they voted for by the time they got to the exit polls. Is it happening again?

6. I repeat: If we lose, it was stolen. There is NO other reasonable
explanation.

Saying you believe the Republicans can pull out a majority in the last 24 hours is like saying you believe in the tooth fairy.

At some point, logic has to overcome complacency and we need to call a spade a spade.

If we lose, it was stolen.

it was stolen again. We riot! Take to the streets! I wont take this anymore. People are fed up all over the country. Just read the stories DUers post here about relatives, neighbors and just plain strangers are converting over to our side. The exit polls will tell the tale.

12. They get off on beating Democrats
Democrats rioting would be good news to these thugs. They love watching police beat the poor. Don't given them the pleasure of beating on Democrats

I would suggest a consumption strike would be the tactic to use to hurt the GOP the worst.

No purchases of new non-essential goods from multinational corporations. If someone has a car die, or clothes shredded in a disaster, buy used or buy from local businesses.

No new cars sold to Dems. No new homes built for Dems. No luxury goods bought by Dems. We'd crash the economy in a few months, and no blood is drawn. They can't make us buy their stuff.

18. Taking their money is only way to get to them
The neo-cons don't care if the US descends into Civil War as long as they get to get rich selling weapons to both sides.

Nope. They only way you stop the greedy is by threatening their money. A consumption strike hits the neo-cons right where it hurts them the most. Their wallet.

It was just a massive appearance in the streets of the people whose votes had been stolen.

15. Keep pounding at it and we WILL win
"we" meaning American citizens and American democracy.

Maybe if they cheat this time Americans will have had enough and will vote in the streets to drive them out. If not today, it will happen, eventually, if we persist. People are beginning to hear that their votes may not be properly counted, and they know enough to know this administration is dangerous.

Sooner or later, if we do not give up -- if not today, then soon -- Americans will reach a tipping point, and it will not matter how they count the vote because we will forcefully make our votes count.

We know how far the neoconservatives will go to subvert democracy.

How far are we willing to go to defend it?

21. We do what should be done to all thieves. Hunt them down ...
... and lock them up.

I have been saying for weeks that they will steal this one not to maintain power but to avoid accountability (which they will get in spades with a Democratic Congress).

Now we're about to find out just who loves this country (and the idea of democracy), and who doesn't.

31. Absolutely. The only "excuse" for defeat in this clear-cut
pro-Dem election is fraud. There is no other plausible explanation...the Dems have been leading too strong for too long to lose honestly.

32. I think Brad Miller is safe in NC, but the repubs where I work are all running out to the polls
In more numbers than I've ever seen it (even in the presidential election). They all seem to be afraid of what might happen, even though our state won't deal that much with the outcome.

If this happens nationwide, then it's the ONLY way I could see them retaining even one of the houses.

33. Far more Dems are motivated than Repubs. And, they've lost
about 20% of their evangelical base, which udeniably pushed them over the edge in the past.

So...it's a no-brainer. The Repubs cannot win honestly today.
