I voted, but there was a glitch. Do you think my vote was counted?

After indicating all my choices, I attempted to go the VOTE screen on the machine. I received a message saying "Change battery immediately or you will lose all of your work" (not a direct quote, but close). I called a poll worker over and he said he had never seen anything like it. He called a supervisor who worked a little button-pushing mumbo jumbo, and eventually I was allowed to access the VOTE screen. But, did it count?

I'd love to reassure you, would hate to crush your expectations...but have my doubts.

Heck, I voted Diebold Opti-Scan this morning with not a single problem. Saw the vote count go up by one as I inserted by ballot. And then promptly felt a lump in my stomach at the thought of the test I saw on the HBO documentary. What's the memory card doing in there with my vote?
