The comedic Mr. Mehlman .... LINK
http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/RNC_chairman_denies_GOP_engaging_in_1107.html

From a msnbc interview today:

Mehlman said that he didn't want to hear Democrats make false accusations about alleged GOP voter intimidation.
"So I hope that what we don't hear from the other side is more allegations, when in fact there is no fraud going on, and more intimidating and harassment, which they engaged in the last time, not the Republicans," Mehlman said.

And I understand he said it with a straight face ......
There is a label for such a person ... Pathological Liar

3. C'mon Guys, What Do You WANT Him To Say?
At best he is going to preside over such an embarassing debacle for the Republicans that he'll never get another job in electorial politics - at worst he may well be on the way to jail along with a host of other Republicans. If I were him I'd be checking out flights to the Cayman Islands on Wednesday.

5. First of all he never said that the Repubs had nothing to do with it
he just claimed that he could say that.

*These ______ operate in the margins the margins of where most people know that public masterbation is unacceptable*

The tire slashing in Wisconsin was a horrible isolated incident but it was just that an isolated incident. The Republicans have a coordinated campaign with former Proctor & Gamble execs to do this robo-calling nonsense. Their attempts at voter suppression are the M.O. part of their normal campaign strategy at this point.

As for Mehlman-all you need to know or see is him on Face the Nation a few weeks ago answering about the "Call me Harold" ad in Tenn. He said it was a shame that the law allowed that to happen and that that should be looked into by the FEC and the next Congress. He did the ad but he never fessed up to it he actually sat there and blamed the law (which they wrote) it had to be the single lamest excuse I have ever heard.
