1. I wish the weather were better. |
|
This is a Democratic year, but the GOP does more early voting. Bad weather today would disproportionately depress Dem turnout.

that it is raining in most of Tennessee but estimated voting is up 50% over the 2004 voting in that state. Beautiful afternoon here in South Mississippi but it was a yucky morning.

The southern states are really getting pounded today, it seems.
I think Karma may be leveling the playing field for the last six years.
The GOP is screwing up the world, and it's not nice to fuck with Mother Nature.

6. It is raining buckets in Athens, GA and NE GA. |

I think God-Godess is decidedly non-partisan!
I voted early today and there were dozens of Democrats waitng to vote at my precinct! I don't think that the rain will keep Democrats from the poll. We have good public transit, a walkable city and a great Get Out the Vote Progrram that has volunteers to drives folks to the polls!
I'm very hopeful! :)

Maybe the repukes will just stay home today. They're already discouraged and depressed; they wouldn't want to get wet, too. Poor things.

Chapel Hill and Carrboro are about as liberal as you can get in the South. And we not only have great public transportation here, but it is free to everyone.
We did have the incident during early voting in CH of someone handing out a "voter's guide" to Dems that listed the Repub candidates.
ES&S scanners here, but the new laws now require a random audit of precincts in each (of 100) counties, in each election. And access to sources of all election software.
