15. Doyle WILL win...but about 3-4%
That's the skinny. If you're following WI races, John Gard might lose!

2. Thanks, Skinner.
I put this up earlier, but it wouldn't format correctly for me. I'm busy electioneering and don't have time to do it. Glad you did it.

This makes an *excellent* check off list. We will be able to see how things are developing as the night progressives. Use a Blue circle for Dem wins and a Red cross-out for Rep wins. As one goes down the page one should see an increasing sea of blue.

Recommended and kicked.

3. Michigan: 8:00 pm, East Lansing
I don't know where your cut off is, but ZIP code 48823 the cut off is 8:00 pm. At least east of Burcham Road (for those who live in the area).

Hope this helps.

The only races listed above are the ones listed as toss-ups or leaners by the Cook report.

Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 04:11 PM by Skinner
Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to update the ratings since the Oct. 6 report came out. Oct 6 shows PA Senate leaning dem.

I'm going to try to update the list before the polls close.

ON EDIT: GOVERNOR, SENATE AND HOUSE RACES HAVE BEEN UPDATED.

Also, Caputo in WV might be upset, mainly due to her incompetence as a member of the Congressional Page Board.

19. Good info. tag this the top of GD.
As for, "LA-03 (LDem) Charlie Melancon Inc. (D) v. Craig F. Romero (R)", I don't think Romero stands a chance. Our district is 88% Democratic, among registered voters. But, we shall see.

DENVER - The Colorado Democratic Party is filing a lawsuit against the city and county of Denver requesting polling places be kept open until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The suit, which is expected to be filed Tuesday, cites the technical problems which occurred at various Denver polling places.

John Zakhem, legal council for the Colorado Republican Party says they have attorneys at the city and county building to intervene on their behalf.

The Republican Party says it does not believe the delays warrant an extension of the polling times because anyone in line by 7 p.m. will get to vote no matter how long it takes.

22. Re: Texas Poll times
Only El Paso County is in the Mountain Time zone, so the polls close in the majority of this state at 8e/7c.

I just thought the "eastern part of the state" was kind of funny, when it's only 1 county that's an hour behind the rest. ;)

27. FYI - Indiana 2nd District - Chocola is the incumbent
reads as if it is an open seat. The seat was held by (d) Tim Roemer who retired before the 2002 race.

Both the 2nd district and 9th district races are rematches - the 9th district race is the third contest between Sodrel and Hill - with each winning at least once. Hill barely lost his seat in 2004. It had appeared locally, at least until the last week or so, that the seat would flip back to D - Hill. However the race tightened back up - with some suggesting that Sodrel had pulled slightly ahead (please let that not be the case.) In the 8th district rumours have it that even Hostettler saw the writing on the wall and all but stopped campaigning in recent days.

30. electionresults.ky.gov
Races called the first bellwethers
KY-02
KY-03
KY-04

I forget where I got this from last week...

Kentucky 4 – Rep. Geoff Davis (R) is running for a second term in a heavily Republican district that voted 63% for President Bush. Combined GOP spending has overwhelmed former Rep. Ken Lucas (D) and the Democrats in the final weeks. If Davis loses, even with the nature of the district and an overwhelming financial edge, the GOP majority is in serious jeopardy.

Kentucky 3 - Rep. Anne Northup (R) is facing yet another challenge in her Louisville-based district. Northup's district is certainly more Democratic than the 4th District (John Kerry took 51%), but it looks like she'll go into Election Night with a narrow lead, but under 50%. If she loses, that means undecided voters are breaking heavily and convincingly for the Democrats and other battle-tested incumbents like Clay Shaw (Florida 22) and Heather Wilson (New Mexico 1) are in a lot of trouble.

Kentucky 2 – If state Rep. Mike Weaver (D) defeats Rep. Ron Lewis (R), Democrats are in for a huge night. The 2nd District voted overwhelmingly (65%) for President Bush in 2004 and it would bring a whole series of heavily Republican districts into play. A loss would be particularly troubling since Lewis doesn't have the burden of personal or ethical baggage, just the weight of President Bush.
