My Daughter Voted For The First Time Today! And She's An Election Judge!
how exciting!

(i took a picture of her by the "vote here" sign)

a lot of her "republican" friends have turned in the past months. however, i don't know if they are bothering to vote (their parents are die hard repukes) or if the 18 year olds are actually going out and voting smart by voting dem. she'll check in with them either late tonight or tomorrow to find out what they did. these kids are so pissed at the repuke party i would be amazed to hear if they voted for the pukes.

1. How wonderful!
It is exciting to see young people participating in the voting process, knowing that their voice matters. I'm very impressed that she even went the step further to be an election judge!

2. Worthy of a K&R

It's energizing to see young people involved and not apathetic...

3. Wow! You did right raising that young lady
Good on ya and good on her.

My granny's spirit is smiling today, I know it is. All these great stories about young voters would make that crippled old woman get up and dance best she could!

Actually working as a polling place judge is SERIOUSLY important. We need lots more DEMs in their counties doing it! Just heard the average age of poll workers is 71. Yep, we need to get the young people involved. They have the most at stake.

Give your daughter a big hug from all us DUers. :patriot:

4. Congrats! It's wonderful to see that young people are...
involved in the process. I was one of the very few 18 year olds who got involved. Things haven't really changed much over the years. Registering to vote on my 18th birthday was a major event in my life.

I just completed my volunteer work for Ned Lamont and Dianne Farrell.

5. Shall I say it? My first vote was for Ike.
I have never got all my kids to vote but it was just the thing to do in my family. I had to drag my husband to do it. So I guess they picked up on that. I usually nag them every 4 years. And they then go as I am not a nagging Mom so they think it is important if I do it.

Congrats to your daughter, it's a big day for her and my daughter. She had to rush to class this morning and work this afternoon BUT she voted during lunch.

9. naw...really? well, congrats to you too!!!
and as a follow-up to my op--two of my daughter's friends showed up tonight and .... no, they didn't bother voting at all. why? because they didn't know enough about the candidates--and couldn't be bothered learning/reading/educating themselves on shit....(too busy being self absorbed & acting like a couple of little kids). figures. (i should have known--since i'm well acquainted with them...)
