If you voted for the first time today, tell us your story.
Did you just turn voting age since the last election?
Didn't register to vote until now?
Share your story and what you thought about the process your first time.
Thanks, and thanks for voting.

1. Ok
This was my first time voting for candidates. I voted last year for a tax referendum. My experience? I filled out the absentee ballot in my dorm room and went to the post office to drop it in the mail. Not too exciting, but it felt good marking all the Democratic bubbles.

2. Hey how bout a retro first vote?
I was in bootcamp in San Diego November 1972. Voted absentee for richard milhous. One matures with age. Haven't voted for a republican since 1976.

4. First timer here......
my hubby too. I am ashamed to admit that we are in our thirties and have never voted. That will never happen again. I feel partly responsible for the incompetant leadership that has stolen our great country. I hang my head in knowing that my apathy helped to cause the death of hundreds of thousands of innocents. I am deeply and truly sorry. I have come to realize that those who are informed and apathetic are far more guilty of this disaster than the blind fools who actively endorse it. I will never, never miss the opportunity to let my voice be heard again. Today I am a proud voter!

5. I was 31 my first time. Voted for McGovern.
Don't be too hard on yourself.
I had a wife and a 1 year old baby girl and figured it was time to start trying to be a grownup.

Oh, and about the only thing I knew about McGovern was that he wasn't Nixon.
I know a little more now.
;-)

And welcome to DU.
