Saw them challenge a vote at my polling station today...
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 04:20 PM by BIG Sean
So, this was the first time I ever saw them challenge a voter at my polling station. I mean, they don't even check ID's here. Then the woman that voted two people ahead of me signed the book, and while she was in the polling booth, they were discussing that her signature was not right. When she came out the said to her "we are officially challenging your vote"...the women looked shocked. They were nice to her, but asked her for her ID, and had her explain the reason her signature was different. I guess everything worked out as she was gone by the time I got out.

Oh, and I wrote in my own name for State Comptroller.

4. I did my part today too
I was on my way form jury duty. i am in Philadelphia. I saw the the philadelphiawater dept had blocked off a main street to get to the polls. I called the number 888Demvote, they could'nt help. I called the comitte of 70 a local philly group, no answer, I called the mayors office, i lost them and could not get thru again. I went to the poll, and asked the committee people to do some thing. they began to call the ward leader. I went home and called the League of women voters and reported my concerns. I retruned to the polls and the water dept had ordered them to stop the work. The streets are clear now.

I had a moment where I almost pulled the lever for Hevesi, but my conscience would not allow it. That guy needs to go.

13. I could have been in trouble had anyone been challenging me...
For the second election in a row, the signature line next to where I sign had my signature from more than fifteen years ago... in my maiden name. After I noticed that during the primaries, I went through the polling place maneuvers to correct the problem.

But there it was again this time. It's a good thing that I've known the Judge of Elections at our polling place for the last thirty plus years or my vote might not have counted...

I guess I get to call the county elections office next week and find out just what the heck is going on!
