Report from rural Maine. The only trouble at the polls today was
one of the town clerk ladies asked a sturdy voter (and friend) to give the ballot box a good "shakin" to get the paper to settle down so there would be more room for more ballots. :D

2. Should we call the DNC ...
and thank them for the great GOTV effort? :-)

17. Lets be honest... call the RNC and thank THEM for a great
GOTV effort for all democrats.

Honest, if I didn't hate them and their slimy tactics and constant lies, I would be a nonchalant voter.

Clean, polite, fair and accountable!

Good to see you round today!

My county in CA is one of the better ones, admittedly.

7. Oh yeah, we do, but I would still like to see some form of ranked voting here.
Baldacci gave it some serious thought not long ago, but I hear it would take a Million $ or more to implement, and in this financial climate it's just not feasible. *Dang ** for making it so hard for states to make ends meet*

5. I know what you mean.
I went in and they didn't ask me you identification. I said, "Marge, don'tcha think you should be asking everyone for their ID?" She said, "Why?, I know everyone in town." :-)

9. I brought my State ID just in case. But I don't think they have
asked me for ID since I first moved here 7 yrs ago, and even then it was just two letters addressed to me here in town.

8. Waterville was VERY organized :)
Big turnout from what I heard (although it was steady & not crazy when I was there at 9:15). Let's see if Napier takes the governorship :)

11. The govenorship is the one race that has me worried. If Woodcock gets in
we might see drastic cuts in MaineCare funding. That would be very bad for my family.

To be honest, Baldacci, Merrill, and LaMarche all had good points in their favor in my book. Very hard to choose today.

19. I voted in Greenville, NH today
They check your name off a list, and give you a simple paper ballot. You mark off your choices with an X. They check your name off another list, and you stuff your ballot into a slot in a wooden box.

Voting the way it should be.

20. Exactly the same way here. Plus they have ballots on on the walls in the
waiting area and in the booth that show you very clearly how to vote.
