I didn't see this, and just started a thread about the underlying meltdown evident on MSNBC's coverage; they're saying voter turnout is at historic levels, higher than anyone can recall, which always means good for the opposition party. Always.

He was struggling to spell out the agenda that the Democratic leadership had enunciated, finishing by claiming that, since they hadn't mentioned Iraq, "they are all over the place!!!!"

He was struggling to cite the Dem's agenda not because it was "all over the place", or he couldn't remember it. That wasn't his problem.

His problem was that the Democrats' pledges were so compellingly BENEFICIAL to the individual American and the country as a whole, it stuck in his craw to articulate them. Ironically, I'd been going bonkers because the talking-heads, not just in the US, but here in the UK, too, had been claiming it was all about Iraq.

Anyway, this is typical: on the list were BETTER JOBS and BETTER PAY - which he hastily summarised as raising the minimum wage!!! As if that were the key issue, in fact, virtually the only issue! Unfortunately, the number of people whose real wages have been viciously reduced, particularly under this regime, inordinate as it was before, in both our countries is not confined to those on the minimum wage - hideous as their plight is.
