Denver area DUers : ACTION ALERT by Pachamama
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 06:29 PM by BelgianMadCow
apparently needing to post under another name in Skinners open debate thread.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2609696#2610129

Post is as follows :

Skinner and DU- I'm under a temp name on DU because I forgot my password and my account is linked to a now discontiued email account!

I'm going to post a bunch of posts until I can post a thread, but I am here in our War Room organized by the theMMOB, Working Assets, True Majority and Election Protection.

The reports are awful from all over the country, but in particular Denver. I'll report more in a moment, but they need help in Denver - badly. I'm with a bunch of gals right now and we are posting on DailyKos and elsewhere trying to get out the word for help. We need people in Denver who are available to go bring Drink and food to people standing in line. A judge declined a request to keep the polls open till 9PM, so they are closing at 7PM. Anybody in line at 7PM will be allowed to vote after that. But we need people to go down and encourage people who have already been standing for a few hours to stay.

I'll post more details in a minute.

Namaste

Pachamama

Pachamama, please add where exactly people should be bringing food and drinks and support.
I figured you cannot make an OP at the moment.

Please PM me DUers in Denver!

There may be a lot of voters standing in line till midnite and we need to keep up their spirits and help encourage them to stay and atleast feed them and get them water!

3. Bet the judge is republican. There's no reason not to keep the
polls open for that extra two hours to make up for the criminality and incompetence of the thugs running the election.

20. Even the Ohio judge ruled to keep the polls open to 9 p.m.
when they normally close at 7:30 because of *&^$%# "glitches."

Is the CO judge more partisan that Ohios? That's saying something.

16. I'm here! By the way, if we can find some DU Denver folks to go down there, I will personally
sponsor the costs of the pizza and water to take to voters standing in line!

I just feel so sick to my stomach right now about this and we only have about 1 1/2 hours left before the polls close! If I know that my actions together with you could have saved even one voter tonite to get their vote counted, its worth it! It's all we can do as we watch and hear what's happening!

So, any Denver DUer, PM me if you can go down and I'll talk to you about covering your costs on the food and drink, I just need you to be the legs and voice to deliver them and the encouragement to the people who if they get there by 7PM that they may need to stand there till midnite and they need the food, drink and encouragement!

read BradBlog and DailyKos have hopped in their car or gone to one of the voting centers and are now doing what they can.

13. Pachamama back! Thanks for posting this Belgiancow! Here's the situation:
We need people in Denver to find a voting center nearest to them:

http://www.denvergov.org/councildistrict10/template116966.asp

Go down there, and see what you can do to help. If you can afford to bring some bottled water and a few pizzas to be delivered, that's awesome. But even if you just go down there and see if you can keep peoples spirits up, that would be great too.

We have to prevent voter disenfranchisement!!!

24. No reports yet....but the media in Denver is covering the long lines and we will find out soon
if there is Pizza showing up to the polls for the voters in line!

Apparentely the media has called the state leader in Boulder about this and they are aware of it....

I just keep praying and hoping that lots of good Denver DUERs are down there....I know that BleedingheartPatriot was aware of the situation and looking to help out...
