Joplin, MO. "Mob scene, have run out of ballots"
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 07:23 PM by Bluebear
From MSNBC for those with no TV. "Two times as many people have showed up to vote. Currently Xeroxing ballots...people starting to panic, only 40 minutes left to vote."

10. Scratching head
You can't Xerox ballots.
They have to be official ballots. Will this invalidate their votes?
Besides--why wasn't there a ballot furnished for every registered voter regardless of if they thought they were going to vote or not?

official ballots (from other polling places) before they can be counted.

22. Does Missouri election law allow this?
I can't imagine allowing someone other than the original voter to alter an official ballot.
I feel a SCOTUS intervention here.

Do you think there will be bunches of lawsuits as a result of the cumulative voting screwups throughout the country ?
Damn, I almost feel like I'm watching a schlock program on reality tv.

There is NO way the higher turn out reflects a huge increase in motivated Repukes. The increase is certainly almost ALL Dems and Independents.

23. Copied ballots are not legal.
At least not in my state. All ballots must be on official paper stock. Allowing anyone to "copy them later to official paper ballots" is opening up a legal can of worms and there had better be lots and lots of witnesses to that process, if they do attempt to go that route.

Scary shit, that.

38. I think you misunderstood me...
What is legal in California is for the registrar/precinct workers to provide photocopies of blank paper ballots for voters to fill out with a blue pen if they run out of original blank paper ballots. That ballot then becomes an original ballot. It's not legal for anyone to photocopy the completed original ballot.
