13. NW Fairfax County--nailbiter is right
As a Canadian citizen (and our emergency ticket, DH likes to say) I can't vote, but will tell you that voter turnout at our local poll was very high at 7:00 a.m.
I heard a report today that in a post-2000 survey, the percentage of Americans who reported they felt very confident about election procedures in their country was just a little above that of Mexico.
And Jimmy Carter says U.S. elections wouldn't cut it with UN observers.

Am holding my breath for Webb--got no cuticles left...

Unconfirmed exit polls circulating online are indicating major Democratic victories in the US Senate, RAW STORY has learned.

The list finds Republicans leading in just 2 of 9 key races, in Arizona and Tennessee.

Exit polls in 2000 and 2004 overestimated the performance of Democrats in final tallies by sometimes large margins.

The list, as acquired by RAW STORY, follows:

#
Democrats leading in:

* VA: 53-46
* RI: 53-46
* PA: 57-42
* OH: 57-43
* NJ: 53-45
* MT: 53-46
* MO: 50-48

Republicans leading:

* TN: 51-48
* AZ: 50-46

We had some dealings with him when a crooked contractor ripped off our family and made off with tons of our cash. He was a big help, but that's another story...
I couldn't even remember the name of his challenger (Faso)...but he was just a sacrificial lamb. Spitzer was destined to win this one.

The crawl had Morisson, the Dem challenger in the Attorney General race, at 65%; the incumbent Phill Kline, the one who seems to have handed abortion records to O'Reilley, was at 35%.

But when the newsreaders came on, they rpesented the early results as 65% for Kline, 35% for Morrison!

I wonder if they are just going to try to reverse the totals to give the wins to the Republican losers!
